DIY archery target from foam puzzle pieces! Mountain man mini

Quick little DIY project. People get rid of these foam interlocking panels for free all the time. A great way to upcycle them is to turn them into archery targets. You can can layer them thicker for faster shooting bows. Easy to take apart and replace panels. Head over to my channel for great full length

Yeah they work great for low poundage bows. I also use cardboard boxes filled with old t-shirts and rags then tuck taped

I use a cardboard box and stuff it real tight with more cardboard.( Get as much as you want for free from local liquor store.) Then I tape one of those matt's to the front of it with duct tape and it works awesome!

No, stack many of them on their sides with the jigsaw connecting bits cut off completely and bind them together with ratchet straps. I’ve done it and it works so well, I been shooting the same one every week for about a year and a half. Still stops arrows well. It can stop even a 70lb compound bow. Try it out.

Thought the same thing. You get much over 45 and I don't think it's gonna stop real well. The neighbors dog might get it slowed down though LOL

I've been using a dozen of these eva mats as a target; works great with my 50lb compound.

Get rid of the wood fram. I stitch mine together with twine and an awl made from whatever is laying around. Stick, end of a file,pocket knife. Whatever ya got.

i usually just reuse straw bales mom uses to decorate on Halloween but im sure they arent much theyre maybe 5lbs

Its a 45# pcv bow. This wont work with a compound unless you put lots of layers and my 60# longbow i added more layers

50# pvc bow. When i was shooting my 60# longbow i had to add more layers. If shooting compound def need more layers

@@prairiemountainmanadventur7424 interesting.. wat distance may i ask..? Coz at 55# 6yds+/- my M108 Phoenix send a 550gr Musen clean thru 4 layers of EVA foam mat(1inch per mat) like nothing was there.. 😭😭😭

@@DragonScorpio31 yeah 6 yards is pretty close for that poundage. I shoot 10-15 yards. We did 8 layers for my buddies 65# compound at 20 yara

How much is the draw weight on your bow you use?

That one was a 50lbs pvc bow my 60lbs black hunter bow I use an 8 stack minimum

60lbs. Just stack more together. My buddy has one for his compound I think 8 or 9 thick
