If you're looking for a way to extend your outdoors time past sunset, give this video a look to see how I rigged my boat with some quality lights without having to drill into the boat, and best of all they don't require a noisy generator! #bowfishing
Buy the lights here: www.amazon.com...
Buy the bases here: monsterrodhold...
Here is the rotary rasp bit from Lowes: www.lowes.com/...

Do you run your trolling motor and lights off the same battery, or do you run 2?
@StaggsintheWild
@StaggsintheWild 3 жыл бұрын
Same battery and we can run about three hours straight before we see any noticeable dimming.

I assume you’re pulling the video up on your phone? Look to the right of the video title and you’ll see a little “down” arrow ... tap that and it’ll bring up the video description.

How long do the lights last on a deep cycle battery?
@StaggsintheWild
@StaggsintheWild 3 жыл бұрын
We've ran them for over three hours with no noticeable loss of light on one battery... if you wanted to bowfish all night, you could connect two batteries in serial if you wanted.

@@StaggsintheWild the batteries will need wired in parallel to increase run time and amperage. When wired in series they will double the voltage.

@@chandlerknight8623 So I have a Yamaha FSH Center Console jet boat. It's powered by a 1.8L Yamaha 4 cyl, just like a car engine. Can I run these lights off my engine? I'm wanted to bowfish a little, and I intend to drive the boat without a trolling motor while bowfishing, so the engine will be running.

Are these lights bright enough for you when bow fishing? Looking to do a setup but don't know what watt led and how many to get
@StaggsintheWild
@StaggsintheWild 3 жыл бұрын
They’re not going to rival the several-hundred watt huge LEDs ran by gas-powered generators ... but they’re also EXTREMELY cost-effective and will get the job done for hobbyists and weekend warriors. If you were a really serious bow fisherman I’d probably look at something that was ran off a generator.

I was running 20 50w flood lights I got on Amazon they were $20 a piece but I recently went down to 10 because you can’t really tell a difference. they’re ac lights so I have a generator. Also I’ve been bowfishing for years

Remove the reflector from the inside of the light housing. It will give you a better flood light. Didn't have to delete my first post. Lol

I'm actually glad you came back so I can explain what happened :) ... I wasn't trying to delete your post, but rather I noticed that something went awry in my editing process; it was supposed to have been a 10-minute video (which it is now), but somehow the first attempt turned out a 20-minute monster with over 10 minutes of blank space at the back end. I took the whole video down and re-edited it (found an odd clip on my editing timeline that had somehow got "parked" way down on the end which created that huge gap...). While I was doing that, I took the opportunity to make a note and correct the carp comment. Good catch, and thanks for pointing that out!

And I'll have to look close at the light housings and see if your idea is possible... right now, they're touted as water resistant so I want to make sure I don't crack any kind of factory seal on them. I'll give it a close inspection. Thanks for the tip!

@@StaggsintheWild yea its possible. We do all of ours that away. I build bowfishing boats on the side and this is what we do, with outstanding results. You should be able to take the ends off, then take the face off. Remove the reflector, (we normally tape the led board at this point and paint the inside of the housing with a high temp white paint) then reassemble. If the gasket brakes simply put a fine bead of silicon around it, wait till it is dry to the touch but the inside is still soft, then assemble. Best to yall and God bless

The problem is that's the wrong Kelvin you want around 3000 and you will be able to see alot deeper and clearer in muddy water.

You can ALWAYS put bigger lights on ANY boat project. My boys have shot hundreds of fish off this boat since I made this video and had a blast for a very minimal investment.
