Reaperguy 67 Cargo containers have been made into hotels & apartments. They give more space for walls, insulation, pipes & wiring. Cargo containers don't have tires which get dry, lose air and go bad early from not being rotated. Of course, wheels are good for this couple so they can move it. You can make the cargo containers look however you want or keep the original look. You can even stack them, put them double or triple + wide & also add on to them as you need, like for a growing or extended family. Look them up, they are amazing. I love how tenacious this couple is, great job with thinking things through & also taking the effort to change things as you saw fit. Thanks for spreading the word of off grid importance. Thank you for sharing your tiny home ❤️🤗

Thank you both for all the advice and answering all the questions that are down the road for living off the grid. Michael Raleigh I agree with you completely. 👍 People used together to fight for the right thing in a town. Now there are too many people and so we dont do that anymore. It's nearly impossible for commoners to pass a law or change a law now. We need to figure a way to pull together and make changes, instead of letting old ways continue to rule us just because they are there. We should be allowed to use more types of building materials. We should be allowed to make a smaller house, rather than the larger size being dictated to us. Peace & Blessings to all you wonderful people!

@@goodliving2171 "we should be allowed" is part of the problem. The TRUTH is these public officials work for US and have no damn right to dictate ANYTHING we can or can't do on our own private property. They also have NO RIGHT to pass laws to strong arm property taxes from us. It's outright theft.

Thank you for the tour of your small home conversion you're a very nice couple! and I hope the laws change so people in tiny homes and motorhomes don't have these problems when people own Acres they should be able to have whoever they want on their property and do whatever they want. When you're not in Suburbia government- City Hall should have no say ! I enjoy watching videos about the tiny home concept and the van/trailer-life minimalist approach to living. It reminds me of the feelings I had as a child when hiding under a card table tent, and later, when building and hanging out in a treehouse. However, I am reluctant to dive headlong into this lifestyle because it seems like it would be an incredibly labor intensive way to live. Every normal daily activity takes more effort than when one is living in even a modestly sized traditional home. This includes food storage, preparation and cooking, showering, going to the bathroom, doing laundry, and so on. Not to mention the extra work required to generate and manage power, finding and filling the water tank, disposing of gray and black water waste, heating and cooling the space, etc. I enjoy many hobbies and traveling, but feel like this lifestyle requires so much work that my leisure time would be reduced to a fraction of what it is today. Yes, there is a tiny societal benefit to generating one's own power, but that can be accomplished in a traditional home too. And there are lots of things any homeowner can do to reduce their energy consumption and conserve water. I understand that part of the appeal is affordability, but that seems to come at the cost of increased effort and time, which is the most valuable commodity of all. Additionally, some folks seem to want to be able to just hitch up and drive away. Like I said before, I love to travel. I go by car, by motorcycle, by airplane and can do this affordably if careful, but I never felt the need to drag my whole house and all my belongings along with me to every destination. There is something sweet about going away and then returning home. And finally, I love my wife like crazy, but sometimes I want to be more than ten feet away from her, if only for a little while. My opinions may not be very popular. I apologize if I offended anyone. I just wanted to share my thoughts. Thank you.

Seeing where your stove is, now, I must tell you you need a drape over your clothes. I promise you clothes that hang their very long before you wear them will get greasy or oily stains on the sleeves on the shoulders any part that is exposed very long from your cooking. I used to make the mistake of leaving my closet doors open because and open and shut them every day... I'm the only one in the house... I realized that being right across from my kitchen, one side of my clothes were getting atmospheric microparticulates of grease and anything else I boiled on them from the air wafting over to my clothes. The top back of my couch got it too.

This is one of, if not the best video on tiny home living where the people seem "real" in the sense that they actually have stuff. When you watch a lot of other videos you feel like the people just moved in and are waiting for their stuff and it comes off impractical once the stuff gets there. These folks have figured out a way to incorporate their stuff into their space and it's perfect. On top of all that, they have something completely different, a workbench!!!! That's a first and it's awesome.

Patti Hawks Sorry about your health. You are still youngish! Do good things for your health, your life. I've been drinking the Dr. Gundry greens & beet juiced drink every morning. He is a heart surgeon & wrote a book on living longer & healthier. He explains why, as people age, they get a boated belly & what to do about it to decrease it to live longer. It's caused by "leaky gut" from a bad diet. The dark green veggies with a little Lemmon juice & Apple Cider Vinegar heals the leak. Lemon juice helps you to not get kidney stones. I am feeling & looking better with a lot less heartburn & problems. Even with other health problems, this can still increase your overall health. Bless you & I will pray for you now. Prayer has proven to help. 🙏🏼 I just prayed to give you your health back, to show you God's love & care so you can help others also. Blessings to you! Blessings to everyone!

I absolutely LOVE your shower setup. I've always hated how in RV's and Tiny Homes, the shower space is really just wasted space that you only use for a very very short time each day. Even if you used it daily - that is a great setup as you can take your showers, then basically put the shower away and have the space for other things. The countertop is brilliant, so useful! You could even store your laundry basket in there under the counter when you aren't showering. I actually like it much better than the older RoadTreks that used to have a model where the shower used the wet-bath toilet area plus the hallway outside the toilet. Great choices on all the storage - you can never have enough places to put things to stay organized. As it's modular, you can always downsize a bit later on if you change your minds. I've always wondered how some of those folks in tiny houses maintain a professional wardrobe when they have little to no hanging space for good clothes that can't be wrinkled. You can't show up to many jobs wearing the same 3 outfits!

Ihaveriffs No, you shouldn't have to as long as it's someplace where you are allowed to have a trailer. In the country, you may do more, like have a trailer. If you have HOA, Home Owners Associatio, you usually aren't allowed to keep a trailer or RV at your property. There are some HOA' s in the country where people have more acreage & so they usually allow you to have a trailer. That's where I live, but they don't let me have more than 1 household living on my 19 acres. They also won't let me split up my acreage for more than 1 household or to sell a portion of my acreage.

Amazing idea. Even a trailer makes a amazing off the grid tiny house. This channel has been giving me so many ideas since I found it a couple of months. Best of luck the channel. I wish you had 100 million subs already.

I commend you for the composting and recycling. I do that as well. Vermicomposting and regular kitchen composting is great! I have about 1/10 the amount of trash as I do recycling.

I also compost & recycle. I don't have much garbage whatsoever. My garbage bin never smells because I put anything that might start smelling, in the freezer, if it is an item that does not go in the compost, such as shrimp skins.

The government doesn't want anyone figuring out a way to live off grid or paying their banker buddies ridiculous monies & interest on homes. Big oil, big electric, big pharma, the bankers, all interconnected and on the buddy system with ALL politicians and heads of Federal agencies.
