Dude, you are over thinking this. Think of your cool plunge tank as a small swimming pool. Use the same chemicals for the number of gallons you have. No more slime. The chemical cost for 150 gal is close to nothing. if you already have a pool just do the math for your gal size. 35% Hydrogen peroxide is close to the oxidizer used in rocket fuel. It will burn you and rust everything it come in contact with. The bigger filter is great.

I have the Grizzly 400 and I recently added the 1/2 HP ActiveAQUA chiller with a 1600 GPH Danner pump and I setup 2 Culligan HF-360B filters (1 charcoal, 1 standard) . However, 4 days into this new setup, the pump stopped working. I've ordered a replacement pump, but I'm wondering what might have caused the pump to fail if it wasn't just a bad pump. A friend mentioned maybe the double filter being an issue - I don't expect you to know, but you said you had a network of people who might, so I thought it was worth asking. Thanks!

I have definitely heard a few things somewhere along the lines of filters causing premature pump failures. I think two filters may cause too much pressure and resistance for the pump and cause it to burn up. Not for certain, but I imagine it’s possible and I feel like somewhere along the lines I saw some conversation about that. Going to ask around and see if anyone knows for sure. I will say I don’t see any need for 2 filters, especially the charcoal filter, so I would do away with that one if it were me. No one I’ve seen in my groups advocates using the charcoal filter, so that may be a good start.
