DIY Desk Lamp with Color Changing LED Light

5 жыл бұрынI partnered with Home Depot to make a DIY LED Desk Lamp with a color changing LED light bulb. This DIY desk lamp has woodworking techniques to make walnut mitered frames that are spaced apart by brass sleeves. The top has a knot filled with gold epoxy resin for a little flair and translucence for the LED light to shine through. The mood lamp is a fun woodworking project and can be altered for an easy DIY project using store bought lumber. #woodworking #lamp #led

I am a 3D print maker. I will be using your designs but instead of wood I will be 3d printing your parts. Then assembling the light fixtures the same way Thank you for your design ideas and such great detailed instructions. I use to have a great wood shop but life has changed and now I am in an apartment so I have to change my building style.

I’m a complete beginner to everything wood related and even the basic electrical. I’ve had this video saved for over two years and finally just started the project. My squares aren’t perfect, but I helped tighten them up with a Brad nailer. I’m waiting for the squares to dry from the stain I put on it, have to cut my holes and assemble, but I’m super excited to see how it turns out. Going to finish it all up tomorrow. Your videos are excellent for people like me who suck at this. Just really frustrating how easy you make it look lol. Keep up the great work

Amazing little lamp! One step I would have added just for the aesthetics is an opaque liner on the inside to hide the light bulb when it's turned on. I love that epoxy filled knot hole at the top. Great way to make use of scrap wood lying around as well.

I love stuff like this. Small giftable pieces that are unique and interesting. I know some people like furniture and big builds, but I just enjoy smaller more artistic stuff.

This is amazing, and I think I've just found a gift idea for my mom's birthday. I wonder how it would look with a bit of frosted glass/acrylic to take a bit of the glare way from the bulb. If I do this I may just have to see for myself.

i love how you used tape to glue and place the 4 mitered pieces of wood! i'm going to see if i can scale it up (maybe using duck tape or wider masking tape) to glue up 4 rough-sawn pine boards i'm using to make a faux beam!

I'm think you could omit the switch, the light bulb I bought, I can use my phone to switch on and off. thinking next time I'll make it with Bluetooth speaker bulb. Great project. Need to get the Wiz bulb for the fireplace setting, I was cheap.
