That's so cool who would have thought that my DeWalt drill could drive a scooter? That's a great prototype additional improvements could really make this a fun DIY project to build and modify.

Awesome job! I'd recommend moving the drill lower to improve stability and eliminate the torque issues with the drill extensions. The drill could be mounted in front of the front wheel so the weight of the drill is lower and better balanced left to right. It would be further improved by driving the rear wheel as the inertia of the drill would not be connected to the steering assembly. Any significant mass in the steering assembly can lead to over steering. Teflon tubing would probably work for routing the throttle to the rear wheel area, Props to you for showing the first board break, we have all been there...

In my head: "ok so it's the curvature in the y axis what gives the board it's stiffness" AlCh: *saws off the curvature* Me: "aight hopefully he won't regret it" AlCh: *breaks the board* Me: "oof, either he uses metal for the board or a board that's not cut in that direction" AlCh: *immediately saws off the curvature again* Geometry: _am I a joke to you_

The difference between an industrial designer & an engineer :-) Bending inertia I= (B*H³)/12 - notice how the height is cubed! That is why the board was cupped to increase the height with the same amount of material. I did not understand why the board width had to be reduced. Still this build is very good ;-) and the fix was a nice Queen truss - at the expense of road clearance ;-)

@@PWARHOLM I suppose Alexandre reduced the width to have it look more like a traditional scooter, or to have it being more manageable. Also that's the inertia of a square section, I don't wanna calculate the inertia of the true section but it's a nice approximate. plus i gotta admit, the truss was a smart way to fix the bending problem, altho if I was him I would've used a smaller truss

Keyword: Fun! Maybe add a cover/brake over the rear wheel? You should run that on a nice smooth rubberized outdoor school track to open it up to full speed! Thanks for taking us along, it’s gotten my own wheels turning, thinking maybe I’ll make my own! Very cool👍🏼👍🏼

This is a very underappreciated channel. I really enjoy your videos, the amount of work and complexity you put into them is simply crazy! And you have a great personality that fits the whole DIY youtuber thing very well. This is fantastic. And crazy. And super sketchy. I want one! :D Seriusly, this is the most underrated channel on KZfaq. A hidden gem that I am sure will not stay that way for long. One of the best and most fun DIY channels out there. It's like Colin Furze with more finesse, better design and a higher production value! Just need more crazy stuff like this. This was brilliant!

Simple brake, put a thin metal plate over the rear wheel such that when you stand on it it contacts the rear wheel to slow you and when you take your foot off it will spring free of the wheel. Love the build and the amount of insane laughter it generated. Keep up the good work.

I would suggest choosing different shot angles when outside or blur identifying marks in your video. It was very easy to find the building you shot in front of. As you have expensive tools and have a growing viewer base the sad truth is that not all viewers are rational and respectful. Just keep safe and thanks for the great content!

Yeah, took like 2 mins to find. i wish that wasn't a real concern, but I guess it could be :/ good thing is that he's in a basement unit with whited out windows, so it would be a little harder to find.

It does have brakes. You can press on the rear wheel with your foot, the shoe's rubber sole will slow it down and won't make you fall since it's the rear wheel stopping/slowing down.

tbf you'd probably burn out the drill motor on your first ride. I don't think they're designed for constant use, just intermittent use.

Awesomeness me build! I you ever decide to change things up I suggest mounting the drill as close to the wheel as possible. The long extensions are stealing some of your power from the drill. That's why your handle bars are twisting so hard. Also since you have a lot of torque, maybe try making some gears that are shiftable with your foot.

Clever use of the one way bearing. But as you mention, it's sketchy. That drill extension wobbling during use ... and turning completely exposed to the elements ... hope no plastic bag or piece of cloth comes near that or it'll get pretty wrapped! If the drill torque effect on steering is too strong ... have you considered making a rear wheel drive version ? And ... why the hell doesn't it have two handles? It kinda triggers my OCD

Amazing! I'm suddenly looking at my Dewalt with a weird grin :D. With that gas system couldn't the drill be attached all the way down as well? Or even holding the drill at the back.. soo many ideas. I agree with so many other comments.. I don't understand how this channel has under 100k subscribers. The content is right up there with Tested, TOT, Diresta, Alec Steele etc...

I never really thought of drill powered homemade vehicles as reasonable, but with the position and the ability to remove the drill, I think this is a great concept- an electric scooter that you don’t have to buy with a motor and electronics

You can never have enough bearings. So I put bearings onto the bearings that had bearings on them. This project ist epic! pretty clever idea with the one way bearing as a solution to the needed free wheel.

I would also print some stabilizers for the drill extenders, which connect to the handlebar and prevent them from possible bends, for example in any type of accident.
