Pretty old comment, I know. But today my phone dropped an entire 10inches to the ground when I squat down to check the psi on my car's tire. It slipped out of my pocket, dropped less than a foot, and it's nearly that bad. O.o Wish I was kidding.

I drop my phone a little earlier today but it's not even close to that bad tho, it was when school was over i had my phone in my hoodie pocket and i was running to the bus and it fell out of my pocket but it was still fine but theen when i got home i took my hoodie off and sat it on the bunk bed so that i can put on a different shirt and then i grabbed my hoodie to put it back on then my phone fell out of my pocket and the bottom of it cracked😢 and my mom doesn't know yet and i just got this phone not too long ago for christmas, (btw) i l know this is a late reply

The cost of the DIY kit added to the hours of frustration might be worth the practice. I won’t be able to fix them all but after a few or too many I’ll learn what to look for and either not waste time or be able to fix.

It's really not that hard to change a screen... Watch a video tutorial and be extra careful with the screws and keep your parts organized. It's more like putting together legos more than it being like surgery. Don' let these people discourage you.
@fragment47844 жыл бұрын
I mean, it certainly seems like Apple is trying to make it as hard as possible. For example, their use of pentapobe screws seems solely to be anti DIY.
@atwfan38573 жыл бұрын
The screws can be organized by a magnetic mat you can tell the difference

bull lol yea with maybe flagship models that 1% of the population own. i take apart thing and fix them nonstop and i would never even consider attempting a screen replacement. thats like a full engine swap on many phones. might as well get a new car.

sounds like a trick ad for a phone repair biz..try, fail & pay for a pro repair after all - that might even cost more than the phone itself did.😐

Keep in mind so you don't waste your money, like buying a repair kit that I will probably toss out the window.

Of course the live media would make it sound like it's something just slightly too complicated for the everyday job. We as a society have become entirely too dependent is dependent on structure... - Yall can farm your own food! (Me)

Lol this was bs when it was aired back in the day and was probably a fear mongering campaign sponsored by a smartphone company before they began physically preventing people from repairing their own phones later without 'approved'($$$) replacement parts. However these days it is absolutely true with how parts are tightly glued together and every cable or screw is practically boobytrapped to damage your phone further with the slightest misstep. Even most seasoned repair guys wouldn't risk repairing their own devices anymore if it's in warranty, whereas before they did it for fun because it was easy. This shitty design trend has also been generating a large amount of e-waste while we are in a silicone shortage. Phone manufacturers have gotten so shady that the EU had to actually step in and force them to make their phones repairable.

If she thinks this is hard, she should try being a mechanic. Acting like it's impossible to do. No it's because you don't know what the hell you're doing. It's not magic. If someone else can repair it then anyone can.
