I liked the look before the paint only because it reminded me of the "used brick" we had on our house when I was very young. I have always wanted a used brick patio and finally getting one. Thanks for ideas.

Woooooo Hooooooo. You did “German Schmear”.. I think I love the way you did it the best so far. I have watched lots of videos and I am not sure my pinned/plate shoulders could do the others! But your way looks less “stressing” on the BODY! Thank you... THANK YOU for showing us your way! You 2 are the BEST!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Wall looks great! Two suggestions: Consider a grey paint wash before applying texture to soften the orange tones. Using a flat wide rubber scraper to apply wall texture will go on easier, much faster, and you'll have more control. Great job!

It's going to cost about $450 and then the grout cost, but watching you doing the shmear is helping me. I want less schmear I think and more of the brick to show through. Love it! Thank you guys!!!

Great job on the Schmear. I remodeled our (real) farmhouse kitchen last year and used those same panels and did a schmear on them. I didn't go quite as heavy as you all and didn't paint but I like how yours looks and may go back onto mine with a whitewash. I've had multiple people walk in and comment that they didn't know our house was brick. Makes me happy to hear.

House renovations are so easy in the USA with all those wooden houses and walls. In Belgium everybody has brick houses and interior wall usually too. Certainly in older gouses. And that makes it so diffecult to make any changes even small ones.

Awesome guys great job once again I think I’d even like to try this somewhere in my house . I actually did a textured faux kind of stucco job in my living room using joint compound mixed in with the color of paint I wanted then glazed it on top after it was all on there an dry it was messy to do of course but very fun ! An I had no help I did it with just me the one person an did all four of my living room walls . My husband thinks I’ve turned into some kind of artistic genus or something . He says he gets hours of entertainment out of the things I do to our house an always says he thinks there’s nothing I won’t tackle ! I just get a kick out of listening to him .

Jayne Brown Almost the same way as she did, but I got my panels from Lowe’s (they are dark red with black grout lines) and used dry wall compound as my “schmear” over the entire panel and just wiped off with a wet rag where I thought it needed. I used polycrylic as my top coat! I love it 😍
@jaynebrown693
@jaynebrown693 5 жыл бұрын
Anna Meyers Mine are actually half Bricks and a wall. I have watched many video of people adding the compound heavy and then wiping off to show some brick. But I like what Jami and Zeb did with putting it on lightly then a white wash. I thought of just simply a white wash, but want the texture! Thank you so much for the information... I guess I am more nervous that my “pinned shoulders and plate and screwed neck” will prevent me from doing it at all. 😕
