I reused JACK DANIEL 's whiskey bottle and made a speaker.
Previously, I made a spherical glass speaker.
• Make glass spherical s...
However, due to insufficient capacity of the air chamber, no sound is heard.
So, when I looked for a glass container with capacity 3L - 5L, I found a bottle of Jack Daniel 's.
(Actually 4L was good, but I could not find it.)
Since it is a rectangular bottle, you can use it as it is.
Good quality of glass came out and it became a wonderful speaker.

I do not put a sound absorbing material in the bottle speaker. By selecting music, when you play loud sounds, you will be concerned with the resonance of the glass, but the resonating sounds are comfortable as well. Wood is soft, glass is hard and sharp sound quality. I think both are good. Which is better is a matter of preference.

A very intriguing project. I would say that the glass speakers suffer a bit from lack of low frequencies, but they seem to work surprisingly well. I suspect that there might be a resonance frequency inside the bottle due to the the tubular neck, but overall a really interesting project. I'm not sure that I would have the confidence to cut and drill a glass bottle like that. I really enjoy the wonderful imagination that you bring to these projects. I'm looking forward to the next one.

Glass rings like a bell. Wood dampens the resonance. Hit a glass bottle with a spoon, ding-ding. Hit a wood box, thud-thud. Thats why the glass bottles sound so bright. Very cool project. Would make for a great conversation starter.

Thanks for the very interesting build video. The sound comparison part is a bit suspect as there are two significant variables besides wood vs. glass. The wood enclosure appears to be much larger in capacity and it is ported. The F3 on a correctly ported enclosure is going to substantially lower (i.e., much more bass at lower frequencies) regardless of what the enclosure is made out of. It would be interesting to see an actual apples-to-apples comparison (same size and sealed) with RTA measurements. I would assume the glass has a resonance frequency(s) within the audible range that would be apparent both on a response graph and to the ear. I suppose this could make it sound more “alive” and/or give it a dipole effect as the resonance would travel in all directions. You might consider this as a follow up video. Would be interesting, I think. Cheers!

Hi there, excellent work. It is almost peacefully see this video. No hurries, no jumpy tasks, in few words, nice job. It seems to me, that you can paint inside the bottle with some wood paint in order to simulate the color of Jack Daniel's whisky. Covered with that, you can put some soft material, in order to avoid the hard surface of the glass. Greetings from Agua Dulce, Veracruz, México.
