You can build your own gymnastic "rings" out of PVC!
There are ways to make them an actual ring shape... But in my opinion it's extra work when these work just as well if not better.

This is an older video, but since I recently posted the short on pullups, I thought I'd share this. I have rings in my online shop. You can buy them many places on the internet, but I'd appreciate if you got them for me: www.hybridcalisthenics.com/rings PLEASE note that if you're not in North America, shipping might be expensive, so buy a local one or make your own! Sorry for the inconvenience. Looking to fix this soon. IF YOU DON'T THINK YOU CAN TIE KNOTS: Look up some cam straps or cam buckles and buy them. They usually come with gymnastic rings anyway. I'll link some knot tutorials in the description. If anyone has any good knots they'd like to share, please comment here so people can see them! You can link knot videos.

@@dev.j255 This isn't a video about exercises though, haha. However, one benefit of gym rings is that you can scale pulling exercises to your fitness level! You can do horizontal pullups to build up.

This really helpfull. Although instead of me trying to build one, I would probably keep walking to the exercise park. I might do this in the future though. Can chinups be an easier form of pullups or should i do ones you suggest in your other video?

Eagle Scout here: the knot you want and recommend for it to be adjustable yet hold someone’s weight, doesn’t really exist, however a simple knot like a bowline is rather easy to adjust compared to a standard knot that someone would use to hold someone’s weight (a double figure eight) additionally if you want to tie a loop off of a loop to use this with I recommend the alpine butterfly knot, this isn’t as adjustable but can assure no chance of it slipping, not many knots are not meant to be strong enough to hold someone’s weight, but these will definitely do well, and always make sure that it’s tightened enough!

I used to do some rock-climbing at beginner level and the knot wr used was exceptionally sturdy and pretty easily adjustable. It's a simple figure-of-eight knot that's doubled (you pass the rope through the openings so that it looks like you made the knot with double the rope). I don't know how to better explain it, but I assume there must be tutorials on KZfaq that eshow you each step clearly. Hope this helps!

While it has a rather grim use, the hangman's knot is actually pretty useful for adjustment. I learned this and that's my Go-to knot. It was originally used to tie ships to the docks so they couldn't float away. They just removed a top part of the post it was on, and just pulled till the ring got so small it untied itself basically. But, still. A great knot that has various uses

I love that he doesn't even say like "oh just use a saw" because some people don't have saws so he offers a solution that may not be too effective but is more available most likely

I like how he acknowledges that kids watch this stuff and do it! I have a little sister who really loves gymnastics, and she’s, well, a kid lol. So I like that!

I just wanna hang out with this guy, he seems like the type to make you dinner when you go to visit and his mom treats you like her son. He just gives those vibes.
