Recently, at the 2021 November El Mirage event, Team Aardema/Braun brought home a 44-year-old record which was set back in August of 1977 by Don Carr. The vehicle classification is a (E) Fuel Lakester with a 258ci, 4-liter modified Olds Rocket V8 engine built by Pete Aardema and Kevin Braun. This unique one-of-a-kind engine has a 2.7” inch stroke with a 3.9” inch bore and has been heavily modified and adapted with Corvette ZR1 LT5 Quad cam cylinder heads. This high revving naturally aspirated engine makes 553 HP on gasoline and 682 HP with a 100 shot of nitrous oxide.
