In this video I show how to change out the spark plugs in your car, Mazda 6 or CX-5 in particular.
This service is to be performed at 75000 miles.

While you have the cover off, check for oil leaks at the valve cover...you'll be surprised to see oil leaking. Here is a video on how to fix that issue:

. 044in or 1.1mm is the standard auto makers design their n/a engines for. . 045 just means its being worn. Iridium was long life, but new cars take them to their limits. I use ngk ruthenium sparkplugs. They withstand higher voltage, higher spark rate and higher rpms. And they'll last alot longer than iriduim. I dont clean plugs and torque spec them anymore. I go with the turn angle instructions on the box. And i only pull out plugs to throw them away.

I see different videos torque spec tighten the plugs, whilst others only 1/2 turn from hand tight. Which is correct? Are they both acceptable?

i think half a turn is too much....last thing you want is to break a sparkplug and then you are stuck! the crush washer at the end will perfectly seal at the torque i have shown. if that gets the job then, why tighten more?
