Smols! In this video we modify our fuel pump! This is a cheap way to get much more out of your car's fuelling system, without having to spend £600 + for an uprated fuel pump (£821 for an APR HPFP!!!).
This is a DIY so follow it at home, we make a few mistakes but I do my best to point it out along the way. Check out the videos below which are linked to the VIS internals upgrade

Tools required:
- 18mm 6 point deep socket & ratchet
- 10mm 6 point deep socket
- Non chlorinated contact cleaner
- Small amount of oil/assembly lube
- Bench vice with padding (cloths)
- Mallet/plastic hammer
- 12/13mm open ended box wrench
- A few spare lint free cloths

'Tappet' was fitted upside down and may still be that way. The rubber o-rings won't last long so please buy the correct sealing washer. Replace the 1960's hose clamp for a genuine spring clamp. Not too bad for your first go.

Thanks for the info Alex much appreciated. The tappet being upside down could have been why it popped off when I removed the pump. I haven't had any issues in over 1k miles so I (believe) it's the right way now. For other peoples knowledge too, how do you know if its upside down? I have 1 crush washer that I found on my drive way, do you have the part number for the washers by any chance? I'll replace the clamp too. If you have these in stock I'll happily purchase them from you. Thanks! 😁

Can you buy the washer on it's own? If so do you know the part number?

@@Jeremy7595 For the larger valve (rail valve) the washer part number is N-013-811-4. I think this is the only one. Check this post, someone kindly took pics and measurements of the rail valve washer - forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?5101162-Help!-What-is-this-part&p=69492364&viewfull=1#post69492364 For the union/pressure fitting (where mine was leaking) the part number is 06F127213C. I'm trying to find the washer part number(s) and I'll edit this post when I do. The spring hose clamp part number is N90986501 so I'll get that too.

The washer isn't available as a separate item.

I found the washer I was missing, but there's no part number as Alex mentioned. For the union connector (rubber hose attached) the Outer Diameter is 12mm, Inner Diameter is 6mm For the rail valve (larger one next to it) the Outer Diameter of 12mm and an Inner Diameter of 9mm. This needs to be a crush washer though. The part number I found for this is N-013-811-4

Alex at AKS was great with me and it does not cost 500 plus pounds for the upgrade and install with my local garage but each to their own I'd rather leave it to the expert when pushing 800 hp worried I will screw something up lol Lovely video thouh

That tappet ontop of the retainer clip, how's it held into place once you bang it down

Hi Swati Gurpreet. If you do a test... on highway cruise 3-4th gear on autopilot and keep rpm in 4800-5000 value constant for a minute, do you get a P0088 rail pressure too high error and limp mode? For this test would be great to have a VCDS and log fuel rail difference between actual and requested by ecu. Blocks 115,230,231. I have this issue, changed everything on fuel rail and getting this. No errors on WOT(wide open throttle) as it uses the fuel pressure and doesn’t build up. No errors under 4400rpm. It looks like the pump can’t regulate pressure over 4700 rpm. It is not a FRPV issue changed the rs4 with the stock one and still error. The pressure differences appear until Reaching it’s release pressure of 130/136 bar.

Torque setting for building it back up lad at Audi told me it is 40nm

What about software update to make this works, what maps have to been moded?

You can fit the VIS internals and run it without a map, it just increases the maximum capability of your fuel pump. When you get your car mapped you can increase your fuel pressure and volume of fuel.

What happens if you drive it straight away without doing the rev things?

Not sure on what could happen, but the manufacturer recommended to do it so I'm assuming some damage can be cause if you dont
