In this video we explore a DIY option for repairing / replacing bearings in an idler pulley. The easiest option would be to purchase a replacement pulley however if they are not available, the next option is to remanufacture or repair.

I chose to repair this pulley. It's a simple fix which can be done with basic tools at home.
If you don't have a press, you cal also use a bench vice to squeeze / press the bearings into place.
This may not be the best or most correct method of repair but it works. If you have a better method, please feel free to share it with everybody in the comments.
This idler pulley comes from a 50 year old Vintage lawn tractor... a Victa 10-42 / MTD 145-760A.
