Thank you for your comment. $19, more than I thought it would be in the States.

thanks for this... i was looking and not much coolant and saw it leaking on like the tranny hosuing on the bottom collection coolant.. easy fix but better to replace it with a metal one not a plastic factory

Is there a specific way for the Y to sit. Does it matter? TIA

Thank you for your question. Just follow the instructions in the video and you shouldn't have a problem.

I replaced mine a year or two ago. Should it be faulty already?
@BasaPete21 күн бұрын
Thank you for your comment and question. It should last more than a few years. But I've seen new parts fail shortly after installation. Be sure to check the fittings before you replace the part.

Thank you! I have a 2012 Dodge Caravan & can see where the fluid is spraying out... I thought it would be an easy repair since it looks like it is easy to get to in my van... The heater hose (on a part that looks like the connecting piece? If that makes sense) ... The heater hose with a hole in it is just Right on top (Easy for me to see where the fluid was leaking/ spraying out) toward the very back , just below the windshield) ... Since it looks like it's an easy to reach location I didn't think it would take very many man-hours to replace? However, as you can see I do not know a lot about cars and am now a single mom.... I just don't want to be taken advantage of and they're quoting me over $1,000 to fix it 😳. Ironically, my friend had a leak in a hose at the same time that was also causing her to lose coolant... I believe that she also mentioned that it was a connective piece strangely enough ? Not sure how many connective pieces there are in the average coolant hose system so I can understand that the pricing could vary somewhat... However, hers was done in one day and they charged her only around $200 for the part and labor ... My van is currently sitting at dishman Dodge because I've been unable to afford to get it fixed yet due to the high cost & am just very confused... I can't remember what type of vehicle she has but it's some sort of smaller SUV type vehicle that is a similar year as mine ... I would appreciate any feedback, questions that I should ask (if any) or advice that anyone has? 🙏 Does this price seem high?

Thank you for your question. $1000 to fix a leaking heater hose is way too much. $200 is more reasonable. You should ask for a detailed quote on the repair, including all parts and labour. Then take the quote to someone you trust.

As an auto professional I've never been a fan of this kit, they require you to cut out so much of the old hose they are now too short and you have to replace the hoses to the engine and the quick connect. The clamps are also way too big. Not that they wont work but by the time you are done it looks like amateur hour. A better solution would have been to come out with a system where you carefully remove the plastic clamps, and replace with 3/4 aluminum y-fittings. But unfortunately 3/4 aluminum y-fittings for some reason dont exist.

Thank you for your comment. I've tried to remove those plastic clamps and the only way was to smash them. I agree, there needs to be a better system.
