You can easily make some upgrades to this tent. Ditch those clamps and remove them altogether. Hang 4 lamps from above using zip ties and run the cords out the air vent at the back of the tent near the top. This cleans up any unnecessary cordage. You may need a couple short extension cords to reach your outlets but it makes the space inside the sauna much nicer. I'd also recommend getting a plastic flat bottomed dishwasher tray to replace the additional fabric/reflective tray. The second liner that came with the drip tray will eventually get nasty. If you're using a stool in the sauna the legs will eat through the material and then sweat will start getting in there. It's also very easy to take the plastic dishwasher tray out and clean it in the shower with hot running water.

WOW! This looks exciting! If it's low emf, low voc and inexpensive then Matt you've just gotten a lot of people really excited. The size and even the look isn't offensive either really. I was about to buy a thera, but I'm not crazy about the emfs, and I'm not adverse to rigging one of these tents up myself especially if it's low emf and super cheap. The pricey wood sauna I'll save up for later. Just need to get my detox sweat on now. :) Blessings to you for your engineering on this! Edited to say: really can't wait for your vid! Hoping it comes out soon. :)

I was just quoted a price on the 3 person corner from both complains. I went with the jacuzzi brand but pay pal glitch stopped the payment. Good thing cause I think for $5,000 I could make my own after watching this.

Just ran across this video. Ive actually been using this exact tent for over 2 years. If you push the clamps up over the bar theyll hook in place. What this tent is even better used for is skipping the bulbs and using a sauna steamer. I went back and forth using the steamer or having the bulbs in. Ive just ordered a real infrared sauna, but i will keep this tent for the occasional steam. When used as a infrared tent with the bulbs all hanging at the top i find it hard to get a great seating position that keeps all my body close enough to the heat. 3 bulbs will get this to 130 or 140, but the bottom stays cold as the heat all rises. So, this set up isnt ideal, but it has worked ok for me for a couple years until i decided I coukd spent 2k for one that woukd work better and be more convenient to use more often. When used as a steam tent it can easily reach almost unbearably high temperatures if you crank the steam generator to high. I just used one of the cheap chinese steam generators that look like a rice cooker, from amazon.

Hello Matt, Try a search in amazon for: 2 inch hose clamps stainless steel. You can open up the clamp by loosening it all the way. Wrap it around the tube/pole and clamp and fasten it back together. Tighten it up so it will not let the light fall but can still slide on the pole. You may need to use two clamps per light. If you want it to stay in place you could get smaller clamps.

Thanks for inspiring video. A few months ago I had drawn up a timber and foilboard design I had been toying with because of the previous video you posted on a DIY sauna. But now after seeing this video I went out and brought a grow tent. I am short so I got a 120x60x150cm, size seems good for me. Still go to do light setup tho. Was thinking to put lights on timber boards and placing the 4th light up top simular to your design. Do you think 4 lights will be enough for tent size. Not to long ago I had all my mercury removed to and struggling with detox/energy. This has saved me a fair bit of work. Thanks for the video.

I got my grow tent sauna finished, but it has a very strong smell when the lights are on. Its slowly getting better after each cycle but still noticeable. Maybe 2 hours total. Do all grow tents experience this smell initially? How long until smell is gone? It does have a see through window. Maybe this is the source of smell. It seems to be working good with 4 lamps. Starting at about 15c/60f, it takes 10min to get to 43c/110f

@hypov8
@hypov8 Жыл бұрын
@@seancaseo84 It still has some ‘smell’ to it. Its not offensive or causing me any symptoms. I say its not off-gassing anymore, unlike the first few days of use. A timber sauna always smells, so ‘smell’ is a bit irrelevant.

So Dr. Wilson is Near-Infrared? I've seen another video use this tent (VIVOSUN 48" X48" X 80" Hydroponic Mylar Grow Tent) with the "ZONEMEL Sauna Steamer Portable Pot 2 Liters".. to reach 110 degrees on the thermometer. Perhaps that might be a low-cost way of getting a Finnish style sauna? Although, according to Joe Rogan / Rhonda Patrick, they say it needs to reach 180F!!
@SnowHoarder
@SnowHoarder 4 жыл бұрын
I wonder what offgassing the Mylar material has at those temperatures, and the sweet spot of how many bulbs you would need. Isn't mylar just foil based layer with plastic in between? also Steam doesn't have the light benefits &as Matt pointed out the moisture aspect in your home, mold potential etc. Not my thing. Finish sauna is more dry w some water added on the rocks. Sort of a halfway point Its not the same as a full steam sauna.

Saunaspace has a small wood panel of bulbs they're selling for $1000 and say that brooder lamp bases (such as you'd used) don't have EMF grounding. However-- in their Questions section for the panel, someone asked what a canvas wrap was on the cord and they'd said it stopped EMF leaks. So maybe that's all they added? I'm assuming you bought something like the Woods Brooder clamp bases? In that case do you mind please testing the EMFs on those? I really need a sauna set-up *ASAP* for health and I'll even buy the $1,000 panel ($1,300 Cdn yoikes) if I have to... but would much prefer a setup for half that price if possible. Grateful thanks! Hoping you see this soon! x

Hello, I’ve built a lot of these, and usually the only emf that gets to the body is electric fields from the bulbs and fixture. What really stops electric fields to eliminate body voltage, is having a grounded heat shield cage in front of the bulb. Wrapping the cord is kind of a waste of time when it’s 4’ away from you, you could just purchase Mu cable if you wanted. But this is a build for budget minded folks, so we’re not going to be able to do a lot of that without opening the wallet a lot more.

I appreciate your efforts to spread awareness about EMF but I am somewhat baffled; if EMF is such a factor, why not just use traditional saunas? If you believe the mainstream nonsense that they are not as good, that's foolish. Traditional saunas are just as good. Infrared may get deeper, but at a cost! So it doesn't make sense to use them. Stick to traditional.
@matt-justice

Hi Michael, not sure I understand? This is a specific context for DIY sauna solutions in this particular video... a person isn’t going to be able to put together a DIY traditional sauna for $225 dollars. We’re trying to get it as good as we can, for as low of budget as possible.
@Micky.Michael
@Micky.Michael 4 жыл бұрын
@@matt-justice what I mean is, use a traditional sauna instead of infrared. Pay for a subscription for a decent spa/gym and use a traditional sauna then the EMF is no longer a concern. EMF only comes from infrared saunas and are very bad, so rather than going to such lengths building one at home, just pay a spa subscription, otherwise accept that you have EMF or must breathe plastic. I am not attacking you, just questioning the point of spending a ton of money to achieve neutral EMF when you can just go use a traditional Finnish style dry sauna one at a gym. OR get a Fyla grow tent and have a steamer (not infrared) to get a NO EMF solution. You deserve credit for testing them all for EMF. EMF radiation is a very bad thing! So i appreciate your videos. I'm just making a point. :-)
