In Finland sauna is traditionally kind of two different things. There's sauna with your nuclear family. Then there's sauna among male friends or sauna among female friends. They have different social rules and contexts. Personally I don't think alcohol go together at all. I might have a cold beer after sauna but that's it.

I had a far infrared sauna, and it was a waste of money. I’d get warm on the back and the rest of my body didn’t feel right. Infared saunas are for people that can’t afford to build a real sauna. It’s just a gimmick. I’ve spend about about 50,000 building mine. I’ve got the Harvia Autodose where you can push a button and it sprays water on the rocks 🪨. Colored LED Lights. Just don’t listen to to all the North America literature saying to have your ceiling at 7ft tall. You want it 8 ft tall or 8.5 or even 9ft if you have the space. You want your body above the rocks 🪨. But don’t waste your money on an inferred, if you don’t have the space in your house, then put one outside they’ve got kits.

As a Finnish person I thought I'd mention something. I appreciate your hands on approach and experimentation but to me a Finnish sauna is NOT primarily a steam sauna. It's up to the individual to decide how much steam they want to use. Some people in Finland think you shouldn't use steam at all and only use drea heat from the stove. Most people use the steam tho so I get it but I think steam saunas are a totally different thing as in Roman or "Turkish" saunas. What makes a Finnish sauna is the ability to ADJUST the moisture aka steam but also run it totally dry whereas "steam saunas," can't do that. Another thing is I actually prefer fire and wood heated saunas which are a lot more traditional but I also think they are just better. It's hard to explain how but you should just try it and see it for yourself. Thanks for the video. 🙂👍

I tried an infrared sauna for three days and I'm hooked. I know what I feel. Don't need any study for that. Bought one a few days ago and can't wait, but unfortunately have to...Just a few more days...

Swedish sauna never fixed my chronic shoulder pain. Far infa red healed it in two sessions. The more I used it the better it feels, today my shoulder doesn’t even click and is flexible and doesn’t hurt at all. I find it really helps my bones as I’m older now. I also find it’s easier to breathe in it as well.

Hey Matt, I've been watching a lot of your videos, and they are really informative, thanks I know you get what you pay for, but the radiant and clear light are slightly out of my price range, do you have a recommendation for a $2500 sauna that can also be a hybrid? thanks

Thank you Matt for all you do. I watched your videos on the infrared saunas and bought one of your recommendations back in Feb 2023…This time after getting confused once again, while searching for red light therapy I went back to your channel hoping you had videos on that and you didn’t disappoint. I just ordered one from Gembared and used your code. Thanks again!

I’ve run jcb for over 30 years the only thing I’ve ever needed is servicing and tyres , and the odd hose replacement, what you need to look at is how easy to get parts or dealer back up , for me jcb is easiest if I do need backup

I'm so glad I found this! I take activated charcoal but I JUST started infrared sauna. How many pills of charcoal do you recommend and when? Right before I sauna? Also I never had the issue of leg cramps (obviously low electrolytes) because I take electrolytes everyday but now that I'm using a sauna I'm getting them because I'm depleting my electrolytes. Will this eventually balance out after I get used to the suana? I know you're not a Dr. I just want your opinion. I really appreciate you

Matt really great discussion! I would like to purchase a full spectrum infrared personal portable sauna for my apartment. ...something i can pack up and take with whenever needed. Any recommendations? Which in your view would you say is the best out there? Thanks so much!

Traditional sauna is great if you have space dedicated for it and its good to do for 1 time a week. Infrared sauna you can do more often and you can setup it up in your garage. Also what you can do with traditional sauna is get some rocks and a container where you can heat up those rocks then place heavy duty tent over those rucks but make sure you putout fire and coals :) so use both :)

Your favorite mask still lets light in at my nose area. I have yet to find a mask that completely blocks out light. Maybe I should buy a pair of swimmers goggles and paint the lenses black. LOL

The sauna subreddit just banned any post about infrared units. Any idea why?
@matt-justiceАй бұрын
Well ya, even if it's constructive, it's rejected. Just the way they are. They just force you to remove anything they don't like or they ban your account. Case in point: www.reddit.com/r/Sauna/comments/1d28545/matt_justice_says_infrared_sauna_is_better_than/

@@matt-justice Odd. I was just banned for 2 years for mentioning infrared in a comment. The mod told me that infrared has nothing to do with sauna and is a scam. Is that true?
@matt-justiceАй бұрын
@@Ryan-yj4sd From their stand point apparently so if you're not burning wood, carrying buckets of water, etc... No idea. Pretty dogmatic in today's world, but not my community so have no idea what they're thinking...

Matt.. great vids.. you a true aficionado of Sauna.. and your very informed opinion is valuable. Back in the day, sauna's were steam.. hot rocks etc. Now we have Steam generator both in Shower and Room formats, but not so high of a temperature. Currently 110V infrared is the generic "Sauna". Given all the term redefinition, I have a very basic question: Given your best 110V "Sauna", or a mid quality 220V 30A Hot Rock "Sauna" wet or dry, which experience would you prefer? Not really interested in the Wood work or wifi.. more an outdoor on the deck would be my style. Moisture in a House isn't good, and the ventilation gets complicated.
