Great detailed vid ... but one thing is u can NOT tighten those cam bolts on the lower controll arm until the truck is sitting on the ground with wheels on or u are binding/ limiting the travel . Make sure u tell ur alignment tech they need to be completely loosened and tightened again .

Thanks for the comment and thanks for the information which will help others when doing this job. My alignment shop always does a thorough job and after 25,000 miles, I have no complaints or issues.

@@andysbusadventures no prob , it's not that ur alignment would be off if ur cams are back in same position its that ur locking in that controll arm bushing at the lowest position , all the travel from LCA comes from that rubber bushings movement and if it's locked down when arm is fully extended ur limiting ur travel and fighting ur shock ... hard to explain but if u look it up u will see .

I put the 5100s on my 4 runner, I noticed the driver’s side was just slightly lower, I called Bilstein and they said I should have used the 6112s which has an adjustment just for that reason! I ended up using a small spacer to get it perfect. The other problem with Bilstein is once you set the adjustment ring you are committed! My son went with Eibach shocks, we were able to change the stance without removing the shock, just by turning a spanner wrench. Just FYI your your installation was spot on, easy to fallow and very professional. Great work!

Great! Looking 4Runner, mine is it's twin, haha. You don't usually see a lot of these early Trail editions around.

So the kdss function was not affected by the slightly higher front? in the same vein, you could also do a longer/taller old man emu spring to lift the rear right? This same principle would work for GX460?
@andysbusadventures10 ай бұрын
I have put 50,000 miles on my 4runner with and the KDSS has not been negatively impacted. I would assume it would work with the GX460 and I would assume you would be able to go taller in the rear as well, but I do not have any experience with this. Thanks for the comment and good luck!

Does your dash board throw errors or does the KDSS light stay on?
@andysbusadventures2 жыл бұрын
I have almost 20,000 miles with the Bilstein 5100's installed and have never had an error light come on or the KDSS light come on.
