@@KaizenDIYGym you made all the cuts and confirmed angles. My pieces are not lining up. Seems the main 32” piece at the 40 degrees is too long when adding the 19” piece for the main side.

Great job figuring out the angles, leverages and substitutions for steel components. I built it and agree that the movement feels natural and surprisingly similar to a leg press machine (which I've always wanted and will never have room for).

WRONG!!!!!!!!! Titan DOES NOT WIN. You win by a mile. In the eyes of those of us who don't have enormous piles of spare cash to buy "Titan" or any other brand name equipment, innovators such as you are our version of WINNER. I'm so glad I discovered your channel. You can bet your sweet hippie I subscribed and rang the bell.

Thanks for this. I was shopping for a leg press when I came across your video. Your tutorial was so well done and easy to follow and bonus, I managed to use wood I had hanging around my garage. I added a short pipe to the backside of the foot pad to hook a resistance band to. I find its smoother with the band and weight plates than with weight plates alone. Thanks again, I'm going to check out your other videos.

Amazing build, man. Made it myself and it’s working wonders for my leg days. One side note for those who are using this on a cheaper rack: Cut a piece of wood (or pvc in my case) that measures the distance from both bottoms of the rack. Place it in between both legs while you ratchet the strap to prevent the rack from buckling at the bottom. Had this issue with the Fitness Reality rack, but now it is working perfect. Thanks again for the build!!

This is amazing. Works just as good on a Hafl Rack. I added an extra 60'' Pipe and used Galvanized Tube Straps and mounted it to the corner of the 2x4's and where the the foot stand meet. This will replace the using of my barbell and getting extra J hooks. (also will save the barbel from possibly vending over time). The other thing I did was used some left over cable from my pully system and add to ends of the cable, a carabeaner to go from the end of the half rack to the bottom of the benchg where i goes around the bench foot. In the video Kaize used tie straps that go from across the rack. Mine is set up to go from back of rack to bench. You just have to measure the size cable you need for you settings. In all this saved me 400 + $. Awesome job. Thanks

I’ve been woodworking for about six years. I started making stuff for my gym a year ago and posting the builds on Reddit. People kept asking how to make the pieces I was making. In August of last year I started doing tutorials and posting on my website. In March I posted my first KZfaq video. Ever since then I’ve been getting lots of requests and every build is more challenging. I am really active on Instagram and repost a lot of stuff that the diy home gym community builds based on my tutorials. That’s the best part of all this.

Yes, it’s holding up great. If you’re on Tiktok I post workouts every week or so with it. Long term, I’d definitely recommend swapping the screws for bolts on the weight sleeves. I also recently noticed that the bar supporting all of the weight is starting to have a very slight bend. Maybe use a 1.25” steel pipe instead of the 1”

This is exactly kzfaq.infoUgkxUHHotQRjIQnfuxEeVotlkHVYWH0DXZoS what I needed to get some exercise while I'm stuck at my desk all day. It's just the right size. Only downsides are that the right oeddale unscrews itself while I use it and increasing the tension causes it to squeak while in use. Both are minor issues that aren't that important to me. So I give it 5 stars.

i am looking at building one of these soon. The question that i had was around the angle at which the weight moves. I would assume it is easier to move a weight on a pendulum sideways, rather than to move it up. Less effort from the legs is what i mean. So if the weight moves mostly sideways, instead of up, you would need to use more weight to get the same effort from your legs. It would be more effort to shift the weight upwards at a 40 degree angle as opposed to 10. I was thinking rather than have the arms hanging straight down, you put the starting position at more of an angle (ie swing it back), and maybe have chains from the rear of the rack to hold them up. Then you lower the incline on the bench to let you lift your legs higher into the air (because the leg press plate is going to be raised higher, and it changes the angle of the press). That way you are pressing a higher proportion of the weights upwards, increasing the stress on the legs and lowering the weight requirements. EDIT Actually now that i look at the pictures on your webpage, you could probably achieve what i am suggesting by simply moving the safety barbell up a couple of notches on the rack. I think that would tilt the angle of the arm back a bit. Love the design, thanks
@KaizenDIYGym
@KaizenDIYGym 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, to be honest, I’ve tried doing it all sorts of ways. Each variation works the legs differently and has a different resistance curve. In my recent video about pulleys, I connected the leg press to two pulleys and that was probably the most effective variation so far.

@KaizenDIYGym

Yes, I addressed this in a short. Basically there is zero resistance at the bottom and 50% at the top. If you put 500 pounds on there the max you’re going to feel is 250 and that’s when you’re at the top of the movement. It’s not ideal but it’s a trade off when using a rack attachment rather than a standalone leg press. I use bands to increase resistance without having to add more weights. I’ve also messed around with connecting it to a cable machine for consistent resistance.
