Do not worry. I am still making models, but I am working on another quite tricky project and is quite time consuming, so I made in my free time another DIY video. Primarily because it is fun for me, and It is a pleasant change.

Hey David, I love that you are still making DIY and alternate technique videos! I find many content creators do videos that gives ideas on making your own tools or supplies when their channel is new, and then stop making them when they gain popularity and sponsors. So I just wanted to thank you for adding variety to your channel, and giving me low cost options to experiment with.

Thanks. I still remember the days when I started with models. I did not have an airbrush and usually asked my parents if I can buy new colors. And I am usually sad that someone wants to start with models and he thinks that he needs all the professional tools. I have a need to crete some video series for beginners. I will see.

Great video man! I am sure I will try this one. Only remark will be about you handling a file. With plastic it is ok to move file forward and backward. But with metal you should only make forward move with applied pressure. Backward moves doesn't remove any material and make your file dull.

I love watching you build models but more of these home-made tools would be great. It's nice watching you use your modelling skills to create things to create models.😁 Your tools are finished to a high standard too, don't look home-made, and probably far better quality than some of the rubbish on sale nowadays. Using steel rules as a cheap source of metal is a clever idea, nice straight edges and 90° corners ~ very handy and, of course, really easy to measure.😀 Cheers for now, Dougie.

I wondered why you would cut up a perfectly good steel ruler for this, then I recognized you had already done so for your photoetch bender. The ruling marks are good measuring points on the bender, and good glue-holding "tooth"" on the riveting tool where smooth metal could slip out. Very subtle.

Totally brilliant idea. I was just looking at buying a set and saw the prices . . . very very expensive. What you produced was easily as good as 'Rosie the Riveter', which is deemed as the best on the market. I'm thinking of trying out some of the small Dremel circular saw blades that might not even need the teeth grinding down from square. I also need a curved blade for getting into the small areas like between the wing and the fuselage. This could simply be a section of circular saw that doesn't have to turn . . . similar to the galaxy riveting tool. Many thanks for heading in this direction. Should be good fun too.
