Amazing job. I have a suggestion about the nicks from cutting the melamine. If you use a good cross cutting blade, it will greatly limit the tear-out. I just learned this like 3 days ago and bought 2 new blades. 1 for cross cuts and one for rip cuts. I used to always use the blades that came with my saws, but never again after learning how much the blade actually matters. Again, great job on this remodel.

Great video!! What material was that again? Also, just curious why you did not cut out the "Xs" ith the jigsaw in the first place vs. using a miter saw later on for them?

The material I used was melamine. For me, I was unsure that I could do as straight of a cut if I had done it with just the jig saw. The miter saw gave me one single straight cut💯

My now ex said I couldn't have a gun in his house when we were getting married. So I gave my two guns to my two sons. Then he said I couldn't bring my circular saw. I told him he needed to find someone else to marry. He relented & my circular saw moved into the house with me. Our mailbox needed to be protected from the county snow plow that repeatedly knocked it down. I bought sacrete, a 4"x4" post & a 5 gallon bucket. He wandered into the garage as I was getting ready to cut the 4x4 post to the correct height. He wanted to try to do it. So I showed him how to use the circular saw with safety glasses. He was so proud of himself! He told his mother about it on the phone that evening & she immediately asked to speak to me. She was furious that I let him be exposed to "such dangerous machinery" that should only be"in the hands of professionals!" The fact that I'd made furniture & used that saw for well over a decade made no difference to her. He's long gone & I still use a circular saw. It's been a better companion than he turned out to be.

Great job. I don't know that I'd have the guts to try something like that. One suggestion about your video volume: The music was much louder than your voice. I turned the volume down during the music and then have to stop the video and crank the volume up several times.

~Is the frontage just for display? I have just seen your video pop up in my feed (i have subscribed) and i was thinking wow a place to stuff behind and looks pretty at the same time. I was waiting for hinges then the video ended! Lol but it does look great all the same. Well done to you.
