It has been some time since I filmed a video. Now that my break is over lets build some shelves for the tool shed. These shelves are mounted on the studs of the shed and use triangles for strength. These work really well for spaces that need the front totally open.
The other shelves video. Perhaps a much more to the point version of this video. • How I built my Large S...

Those shelves aren't going anywhere, super strong!

These are definitely strong. I am gonna be putting about 1600 pounds on there so still going to put the front support. I would hate the studs to come out.

Nice simple shelving that should be plenty strong. Small suggestion, though... You could have picked up a chalk line at the hardware store and used it to snap a level line across the wall at your first pencil mark on the stud. Then you wouldn't have had to play the balancing act with your level, support triangle, and impact driver since that reference line would be transferred to every stud.

Congrats on the promotion. Hey man. I bet you felt a bit daunted when you bought your first property or land. I know I did. It’s always a good thing.

Love the videos my friend. Just to your right as you are using the compound miter saw to cut the diagonals of the triangles for the shelves, is a hold down clamp to secure your work piece instead of having to use a scrap on the left. Hanging the supports, attach the first stud inside triangle, hold up the last stud inside triangle and a 2x4 across them. With a level across the 2x4 will set your shelf brackets level. Leave the 2x4 sitting on top of these 2 triangles and you now have a stop/alignment block for installing all the other triangles.

Thanks! That clamp on the saw hits the motor on these really close cuts. So I have to use a scrap to hold those. I really like the 2x4 idea. I might have to do that today as I make more shelves.

@@LandtoHouse Glad you like the 2x4 idea and moving that clamp to the left side and cutting on the other 45° eliminated the motor/clamp interference (I have one of those saws)

i would have done the two ends of shelf first then used a board between the ends. so all you have to do is get them to your board

Good afternoon, what kind of wood do you most often work with?

This is spruce. Or pine. We have lots of this in my area.

@@LandtoHouse And pine is generally a very soft breed, if you make a computer desk out of it, right?
Beginner to full-time woodworker in 2 years. It's entertaining, I promise
