I too have an insulated ice fishing tent. I am in the mid atlantic and it often gets near freezing or below. I use a space heater, and hook up a light as well inside the tent. I was having issues with venting so I added an electric exhaust fan that fits directly into the vent in the roof of the tent. This is a very good fan and I still had issues with the smoke. I could stand sitting in it but when I came out boy did I smell like an old ashtray. If I could perfect the venting my setup would be perfect.

I’ve had to make a few mods to my setup but I feel it’s dialed in now. I was getting some rain leaking through the top which got a few things wet inside so I added a field tarp over the top of the ice tent and that fixed it (still raining in PA). I added Reflectix to cover the floor and then a thin shop carpet over that to help keep the heat inside. I linked 115ft of LED lights around the ceiling for warm ambient lighting. I bought an outside recliner, air purifier, and a gooseneck iPad stand holder along with a small end table. It is a fantastic setup. No issues with ventilation with the air purifier going and the tent has 2 vents on the upper side panels. I look forward to my cigar time now!

My buddies & I made a teepee style tent for our cigar smoking. With small draft tunnel for a fire and smoke, it quickly became a popular winter spot for everyone. Nothing beats smoking a cigar like smoking a cigar next to an open fire. Just becareful not to let the embers touch the cigar

I turned an old garden shed into a lounge in northern Minnesota. I used a bathroom exhaust vent for the air and an inexpensive wood stove for heat. Worked like a charm. I can't say that I would feel safe smoking inside a nylon tent, even if was treated with fire retardant. Hard to beat the price, though.

I have an variable speed 4” exhaust fan with a charcoal filter and it works so well even on lowest speed. If the fan is going more than half way up it sucks the walls of my tent in and it’s a 10’x10’ tent for reference. 6” would move an incredible amount of air for you if you need one that large

Another great video Tim. I have a screened-in porch that obviously does not retain heat. So, I do not have to worry about the smoke however, heating will be an issue. I use a table top fire heater which keeps me pretty warm and it's been down in the low 20s here in central Pennsylvania already this winter. Not the most ideal setup however, it's the best I have for now. I plan to put up clear plastic for the large windows to keep in some of the heat. Thanks again for the video and great ideas and keep them coming. Stay safe folks

I also live in Arizona and, sadly, I don't get to smoke cigars that often during the colder months. I enjoy smoking cigars in the evening to relax from the day and the temps can get quite chilly in the evening. Unfortunately, our HOA prohibits any tents being put up in the yard. We even got dinged for having a chimenea. No fires for warmth. A local lounge would be an option, but they are rather small and often packed because a lot of people run into the same issues. On top of that, football season seems to increase the crowd as well. For now, I just sit outside during the afternoon on my days off to enjoy a cigar. This all just adds to the reason why this isn't my favorite time of year. 😏

That's great. Hello from Brooklyn, NY. I enclosed my terrace with a tarp held with two Steel Load Lock Bar for Cargo one at the top and another at the bottom, basically building a wall. (think of a curtain being held by a tension rod at both ends) heated by a pair of heaters. finishing touch: added a white picnic sheet to watch you channel and movies. can fit 5 comfortably, once a while 7 people.

This makes me want to tarp-off an area beneath our deck and set up a space heater. I figure the space between the deck boards above would go a long way in venting the heated air, but it might need a fan as well…

yeah, I agree. The setup I came up with wouldn't likely work if it got too cold. But I think the space heater is a good solution if you got a really good tent. Seems like some people in freezing areas use the Eskimo tents, and then a space heater seems to work pretty well even when it's really really cold.

We don’t get a ton of snow here in the Midwest, but what’s the snow/ice load of that tent, lol! Great idea on the cheap! We have a covered patio and put up outdoor curtains. Then use a solo stove with extra long heating pad to sit on. It’s not probably as warm as your tent, but it gets the job done.

My wife, her daughter, and her daughters daughter and I did a day trip to our camping spot out in BFE. When we got there the snow was a few inches thick and the forest was beautiful! I started a fire then lit up a Plasencia Alma Fuerte Sixto i. My wife cooked up some medium rare steaks and potatoes on our antique Griswold 8" skillet. We ate, packed up, put the fire out and back home all in the span of 4 hours. The steaks were amazing and the Plasencia melded very well with the steak! I can't wait to do it again. Temperature was around 29. No tent used though.

I have a 4 man Ice fishing tent that pops up super easy and a Big Buddy propane heater. Its gotten me through 2 Northern NY winters toasty and dry. Venting seems to be my biggest challenge. Fireplaces have a natural air draw so, especially if you have a raised hearth, if you can manage to sit close enough, you get natural warmth, ambiance, and a fine session. Just keep your cold drink on the other side of you. You can watch the smoke being drawn up the chimney - along with the heat in your house…
