Wow, the whole family is trying to scam you. The wife found out how much the husband sold it for so she went in and try to squeeze you for more money. Then after the fact that, the son is trying to squeeze a couple more dollars. Some folks are just shameless and looking at that property. It looks like it was going to be tore down anyway. I would look into trying to get your money back from the lady if she was still legally married to the husband, for all you know they were in cahoots trying to get more money from you for the booth and she’s playing dumb to her knowing about the sale. At least try to get back what you paid the husband initially. Some people are just pieces of shit stealing precious oxygen from the rest of us

I've been buying and stripping Foxbody Mustangs for parts for over 20 years and I've dealt with my share of shady people. The worst one was a couple playing me very similar to what happened here. I made the deal with the girlfriend at a price and when I went to pick up the car, the boyfriend suddenly showed up and renegotiated the price. In the end, the final price was still well under market at the time, so paying an additional $400 wasn't the end of the world. In this situation, I would see how it plays out and then countersue them for legal fees.

Tell them to come get it at their expense and they have to pay for the upgrades. I would say they have no money and can not afford to do so. You have all the proof of a legal purchase they don't have a leg to stand on in court don't worry about them.

A lot of people threaten to sue. The odds of you actually receiving anything from them is very low. I would ignore them until you get something certified from a lawyer. Then you should get a lawyer and have them review everything for you. But do not talk to the sellers at all. Good luck!

Suggestion on the lights. Do a retro fit. 3 different types of color spectrum. Daylight, cool light, natural light. All individually controlled! Able to tune light reflection... its a a game changer..

I believe this is small claims court territory. Some states don't even allow lawyer representation in small claims court. You got scammed by the husband, even had the cop verify that. Then you had to make a new deal and pay again to the wife, which you have on video, money changed hands and she accepted it, Paid in Full per the agreement you had with her. The kid cannot come back and say you owe more. Deal is done, signed sealed and delivered. They should be thankful they got anything for it. That place looked like it was getting ready to be bulldozed. Cut all ties to them. You will not hear from them again. The retainer for a lawyer will probably cost you what you would pay for new lights alone.

Tell them to stop contacting you and file suit if they feel it's necessary. Any competent attorney will tell them they have no case AND going to court will cost them more than they expect to gain. Also, it's possible they're intentionally scamming your, or it's a family of idiots, or it's both.

That's a TON of work, I have done the exact same thing, My ol boss needed a new booth so he found one....though it was an old body shop that was moving and was getting a much bigger newer booth and the transaction was smooth, the owners and his crew were all cool peoples...it sucks the people that sold ya yours were not cool peoples.

If you can settle out of court with no lawyers for a couple hundred bucks and get it in writing that they agree to not press charges. That would be your best bet. Going to court costs everyone money. Anyone who has had to do it knows. Most have not had to go to court and just think it’s straightforward, it is the opposite of that.

@@jimwheeler6094 personal experience. I traveled across states to buy a car. Car was misrepresented. Seller refused to return our deposit. Consulted a lawyer with my wife’s company who said that we would have to travel to the sellers state to file a claim and travel for all court dates.

Nothing worry about your booth. Old owner of the family got threated you for grabbing extra some money from you only without any reasonable and proper reasons. Leave any contacts from them and keep any text messages or phone call's records for when you get a complaint from their lawyer and make a counter legal act with your lawyer to protect all of your legal rights with this issue. I would assume the cops will say it's a civil matter. If he is hurting for money he likely does not have money for a civil suit. Once off their property, you own it.

They have no case. If they want it back you can send them a bill of all the work and money you put into the booth and tell them they can have it back for all the money, time, and labor, loss of revenue from your business, shipping, storage. Or drop it. Or sue them for all legal fees, defamation, and revenue loss. Possession is 9/10ths of the law. Wouldn't waste your time or money on those people. Deal is done. Keep moving forward. No reasonable judge would take that case.

You have nothing to worry about. The deal was agreed on and shaking of the hands is a legal agreement by law. Plus with the police present you have a witness of a legal transaction. Also, you can sue them for false allegations and slander. Please keep all your bank withdrawal paperwork if you paid cash.

As i saw on another channel, if someone is really gonna sue you, they dont threaten, you just get served. They cant afford the lawyer. If they want to play games, tell them you'll bring it back. They owe you tear down, transport both ways, setup, restoration, teardown again, and setup again at their place...plus ALL your labor. I'm sure you could easily make that more than the cost of a new booth. Screw unto others as they try to screw unto you!
