It's nice to see someone that is covering the basics for mild steel. Seems that there is All Kinds of setup instructions for Aluminum, but hardly anything for steel. Thanks Again - A BIG help !

Good video. On your 2T and 4T statement. I have the machine and running AC on 2T it will do pulse. The "T" just means how many "touches" to start/stop the operation. Pulse is controlled via the pulse switch, Off, Type 1, type 2. I like the the switch personally after several hours with the pedal, at least for small stuff. Far from a pro but the pulse helps hide that HAHA.

Pulse settings are useful. It drops the amperage from the amperage amount that you set the machine to wither a lower amperage or zero, depending on the machine. It is great for overhead welding, cause it keeps the weld pool a little cooler and from dropping out. Also good when your are welding thin edges. If you ever want to weld two aluminum cans together you need to learn to use the pulse feature.

Thanks for the info! I have been playing around with the pulse feature a little and I can see how it would be useful in certain situations. It's good to have that option.

Was kinda expecting you to lay a couple example beads after going over all the settings. Informative video I just thought it was a little anticlimactic when there wasn’t any welding at the end

2T can also be used with a momentary on/off switch.
@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10
@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10 4 жыл бұрын
Will that be at a fixed amp setting?
@zod-engineering-welding
@zod-engineering-welding 4 жыл бұрын
@@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10 Yes, both 2T and 4T when used with a momentary on/off switch will be with a fixed amperage, as that machine has no way to alter it with the switch. The difference between the two is that 4T can be thought of as "trigger lock", so you don't have to keep the switch pressed the whole time you want the arc "on". When you want to extinguish the arc, you press & hold down to slope-down for how ever many seconds you set at the dial, then let go and the post-flow will kick-in.

Very neat! I have tried the finger switch once with this machine mostly just to see if it worked and it does. I didn't tinker with it much but I can see how it would be useful for many situations. I'm really liking this machine, more and more every time I learn something new about it. Thanks for the info!

It's a great machine and I'm sure you will love it. My only tip is just practice as much as possible. Practice is the key no matter what machine you use. 👍
