The track by track- the strings , the guitar and the bass all on separate tracks and all of the overdubs on his voice are just absolutely beautiful all of the voices are him and him alone- only ones that got it down to a science is the Carpenters and just Marvin Gaye at that point in time!!

The whole mix is mind-blowing. But from 18:00 forward is simply soul stirring, a meditation. The relentless, shovel-digging guitar, the testifying strings, the driving harp...it's too much. But that relentless guitar rhythm is sick...Its like a funeral procession of sad pallbearers (plucked from a Carson McCullers novel) regretfully carrying a loved one to a unimaginably eternal rest. It is literally poetry in motion.
