This has to be one of the best panel discussions of a movie I have ever seen, everyone is articulate and intelligent, the questions were not soft ball but very insightful. The first question Christophe answered was perfectly done, Samuel of course is always brilliant, the man next to him on the end brought a point I hadn't thought of before...the plantation as a corporation. Before Tarrantino hangs it up I hope he does another Grindhouse movie, the final chapter of the Kill Bill series and a prologue to Pulp Fiction.

When the movie originally came out, I was not interested in wanting to watch it. I would give absolutely anything to be in a Tarantino movie. His movies are such masterpieces. There's almost a supernatural quality to his stories.
@waynemyers2469 Жыл бұрын
I know what you mean, there are directors/screen-writers whose work often has a "supernatural" aspect to it, Sergio Leone is one and so is his (although we may not have seen it at the time) acolyte, Clint Eastwood ...and Stanley Kubrick, to name another...and Tarantino makes four and if you look at the movies they make they all seem to lean heavily upon three concepts: Justice, violence and change and always with a hint of inevitability about the Justice. All the guilty will suffer and sometimes the innocent too because violence begets violence but the guilty WILL ALWAYS suffer, it's inevitable...and that's where the supernatural slips into their stories because, coincidentally, that's exactly how God does things...

Agreed like 100x times... Damn, that dude is impressive. Been following him since his days on the Shield, I'm not sure what he did before that, but even on The Shield, he was, I think, the best actor, because his character was by far the most complex to play and he discharged that duty so gracefully..

The hateful 8 is such an underrated movie. That movie was the first time I realized Quentin Terantino is a fucking genius, I hadnt listened to such brilliant dialogue in my entire life. I think the first Tarantino movie I ever seriously watched. The movie doesnt have huge production value but man o' man the performances and writing were just so good.

Christoph Waltz is one of my all time favorite actors now. His articulation in Django got me hooked on his "ism", if you will. Inglorious Basterds introduced me to him, then Django was SO GOOD, I can't NOT listen to him in any movie he is in.

Watching Quentin films is draining because after each one, if you haven't developed an irreversible crush on at least 2 characters and a renewed love of Quentin, you probably didn't get it. Also developed new respect for Mr. SL Jackson for agreeing to play this despicable character, because no one else could have done it justice (at least not with this dark humor). Leo was maybe the greatest he's ever been in this, tapping into the dynamic by going into that deep dark hole. Cristoph Waltz and Jamie Foxx are just perfect, and they defined perfection.

Quentin Tarantinos story is incredible. He used to work in a video store during the eighties and managed to become an Academy award winning director of several criticality acclaimed movies. Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Reservoir Dogs, Inglorious Basterds and now Django unchained. Those are just a few of his movies but he also has several others that maybe weren't as well received as those aforementioned, but still very very good. He's a remarkable creator of cinema and it doesn't surprise me that he would have worked in a video store.
