This is amazing man, I’ve always wanted to get a drone to be able to make some cool footage for videos but there’s so many different options so I was scared to spend money on one that I’d regret. After watching this video I’m a lot more convinced this is the one. Definitely subscribing, great demo to the new drone man. 👏👏

I bought a Phantom 3 Pro back in 2017. In 2020 a tree took it's life, a result of my error. A few weeks back I saw a mini 3 at my local Sam's Club and felt inspired to go online where i found the one i want. I purchased a dji Mini 3 Pro (DJI RC) and now I await for its arrival. Thank you for taking the time and effort it took to put this video together for us.

I've had my mini 2 for a year and I remain in awe that such amazing technology is available to the man in the street. I'm still learning so I can live without an improved drone for now. The new controller is a different matter, though; the want is strong with that! Thanks for posting so quickly, Darren.

you are right! I have bunch of dji drones, most of them are high end. But I love the mini series and I really love my mini 2 for scouting and exploring, my only complaint is the lack of obstacle avoidance tech, which I actually like having just incase. Like my mavic 2 pro I got, I fly that down tunnels sometimes to explore them if big enough and side sensing keeps it much more centered and blocks it from drifting into the wall.

First mini 3 video I’ve seen. Brilliant. Definitely going to be one of the first customers for this. Had the mini 1 since 2019 and it has been incredible. Flown through -20 C to +40 C all over the world and never had any issues!

Ok here are my five requests. ;) 1. Range test ... how far will it go? 😉 2. Obstacle avoidance capabilities and sensitivity. (will it stop you from going into a tree ... hitting small tree branches, telephone cables etc etc) 3. Noise comparison to Mini 2 ... is it quieter? 4. Real life scenario flight time. 5. Wind resistance

Wind resistance is supposed to be the same as the Air 2s, real life flight time, add 5 mins to what ya get with your Mini 2, if you have one that is.

You can now tell anybody that actually cares about this drone releases that you saw it flying , remote screen , drone lights ext . Me ? I told my girl i just saw the new DJI mini 3 exclusive first hand flight and she looked at me like i was talking to her about football, dint care at all! 😂 but one of my dudes wants to buy my DJI mini 2 as soon as i told him i was buying a Mini 3 , so that makes me want to sell the 2 and get the 3. Exciting week for you, man. Congrats. Idea for comparison: The major unknown for me is the built-in screen brightness. Don't you plan to compare with a mobile phone screen running the DJI Go app on say the mini 2 in a similar setting in bright sunlight. I'd also say a wind test, but I'm already fairly sold on this.

Hey Darren! I'm curious about the obstacle avoidance on front and back. Do these sensors provide 180 degree protection? For example catch something the drone is about to run into sideways on the front and back sensors? Would love to see a video with more extensive tests of the obstacle avoidance. Cheers mate!

No so what happened was he signed up for this DJI program where you can test their drones and do reviews on them. He doesn't own it, he'll have to send it back within 30 days.

Pretty much sums it up for me, SOLD! ;) Been following the leaks and specs closely for weeks. I only have 3 remaining questions. 1. Screen brightness in the sun... same as the Pro controller? 2. Does the controller have usb or hdmi OUT? 3. Is there any indication of waypoints, current or future?

I have the same question about brightness. The DJI RC has a USB (maybe out) but no HDMI. HDMI out is one of the premium functions of the RC PRO. Unfortunately DJI doesn't have waypoints in the latest generation of drones since MA2.

The waypoints thing is a shame. I'd love to do the same routes in both video and shots at different times of year and I'm no way good enough at flying to get them close enough without it 🤣

@@davidmaskew Agree. Such a shame. I fly over the ocean filming great white sharks, whales and dolphins. I use waypoints to create search grids to locate them. Have over 100 saved for Litchi up and down the SoCal coast. Maybe ill wait until someone confirms the M3 works with it. :/

Question , the remote control has a built-in microphone to make audio recordings if you want to comment on your flight or not ? With the dji mini 2 posible make recordings with applications audio and screenshot on the smartphone.

Is it still under 250g? I think the screen would be better above the thumb sticks. Because now eyes are more down and your palm is covering part of the screen. Potentially pushing screen buttons.

@@SirensAndAlarmsOfNorthernIL There are a few KZfaqrs that really give away free stuff Captain Drone is 1 of them he had a free hubsan zino mini pro giveaway but you had to be subscribed to his channel and answer a few questions then he had another KZfaq video where he clearly named the person that won the drone .... Same thing happened to him someone made a fake profile and tried this same exact Whatsapp scam I ended up reporting them and let Captain Drone know what was going on he messaged me back saying ty for bringing it to his attention and he was glad I didn't fall for the scam

Very nice and thanks for the preview. It seems to me that the horizon line is crooked and hangs very conspicuously. This would be a big deal, was it windy? or do you know the reason? Thanks

So, will the Mini 3 smart controller work wit a Mavic 3. Additionally, does the controller have built in GPS (in case you need to update Home Point), and presumably tethers nicely to an iPhone to get maps etc from the Internet?

Hi pal would you recommend the mini 3 or the A2S? I'm in Ireland and we've had a price drop on the A2S but I'm on the fence about the mini 3. Should I wait?

have you ever tested the tracking control system, because I think it's great, I now have the mavic air 2, and I'm considering buying the mini3 pro, but first I want to know whether this tracking function works optimally. Thanks in advance for the first test flight

I'm really looking forward to the Mini 2 footage comparison. If there is a big quality difference then I'm actually considering upgrading to the Mini 3. If the quality difference ain't that big, than I'm keeping the Mini 2 and just save up for something like the Air2s.

@@KAPOPRO but air2s is more restriced where it is legal to fly due to flight restrictions. thats why i cancelled my air2s order and decided to wait for this new little boy

@@dionysus8139 In EU those two go under C0 and C1 categories, both under the A1 regulation. The only difference is, that with sub 250g you can fly over the uninvolved people.

It is outrageous. Over £800 for an entry level drone.

@@Rule1ModelRailways it's not really "entry level" though. Based on the leaks so far, it's basically a sub 249g Air 2S with a few more features like the rotating gimbal. I suspect the Mini Se and and Mini 2 will remain in the lineup to fill the "entry level" positions.

@@92ASC as long as the mini 2 remains in the market...it'll be the best selling drone of all time. everyone upgrading and getting better...yet no one can get to sub 500$ for their quads. I'm alright with this as long as they keep producing it- mini 2 is still very capable.

Me neither. look very much like the mini 2 quality, maybe a little better lowlight. won't be able to really tell until get gets fully nght.

Now I finally have to get in touch from Germany and tell you that you have built a really excellent KZfaq page. Your reports about the drones are detailed, very informative and really well prepared. In the end it was their fault that I also bought the Mini 3 pro because their first report had impressed me so deeply days before the official presentation. It was a great guy and I'm really excited about the third minute. So keep it up and greetings to beautiful England.

Great Darren, I am waiting for your review of the DJI RC because I have 2 questions. Q1. How many nits has the RC screen. Q2. The standard controller has 2 buttons (Fn and camera toggle) that are missing on the DJI RC. I believe that you can program the C1/C2 buttons for these functions.

I've had my mini 2 for a year and I remain in awe that such amazing technology is available to the man in the street. I'm still learning so I can live without an improved drone for now. The new controller is a different matter, though; the want is strong with that! Thanks for posting so quickly You make very cool 😎 Videos

Hello Darren, the dji fly app off my mini 2 says there’s an firmware update to 01.04.0000 (49,6 MB) although I am on 1.5.10 (604) now. I live in Belgium but I am in Spain now. Can you explain that? I don’t see anything on KZfaq off an update. Thanks for an answer!

Footage looks low quality missing details. Not much different from mini 2. It could be the way you encoded? Watching in a 4k it look like an up-convented footage from 1080p.

Hello, nice video. Just one question, do you need internet on the remote controller for maps to work? Or are the maps stored on the RC?

This is fantastic Darren and I sure appreciate the video and brief review. I am extremely curious on the remote, being I’ve always used a cell phone that is at the top of the controller. Is it odd having the screen in a low position? Seems as though your hands may hinder the sight of the screen. Do you see it as a plus or minus? Again, thank you for the video. Totally stoked to get my hands on one of these soon.
