I saw the NCL Encore in one of your shots. I visited your city in 2019 and sailed on the 1st transatlantic voyage of that ship from that very dock. Really enjoyed my time in Southampton before we departed, you have a beautiful city. BTW, nice info about the cameras as well.

For me it’s the zoom that always catches my eye. I like being able to bring something in a little bit closer.

Absolutely love my osmo pocket. Great little vlogging tool. The quality is absolutely great for something so tiny and it physically stabilized the image using the gimbal. All in a tiny little stick that fits in my pocket.

Nice roundup. I had sold the Pocket 1 but just bought it back on sale for $200 with control wheel and WiFi module. The Pocket 2 looks like it has less sharpening from your video. But not sure about the dynamic range. The pocket 2 seems to expose half a stop darker compared to the pocket 1. I wonder if the wider angle of the pocket 2 might make it look too similar to a GoPro or osmo action in the field of view.

I hope Feiyu will release Feiyu Pocket 2 with 1/1.8 inch or bigger sensor. This model of video camera is the future of content creation due to its simplicity and improved video quality.

After watching a lot of videos, I have bought pocket 1, because the price difference is so high. It is an awesome device. Sometimes I was shocked to see my shot, seems like a high-end professional shot hahaha.....

I purchased a pocket 2 for my father and he loves it. I love the audio quality, for personal and blogging. Could anyone reccomend a sound quality or even an audio recorder with the same or better audio quality in spectrum with the Pocket 2. Thank you so much!

Great video. For our channel to make walking tour we are actually using the iPhone 11 Pro Max on a gymbal. Do you think that is beneficial to buy a pocket 1 that we found on amazon for 150€? It looks minimal and great but we do not know the difference in quality. Thanks for answering

Hi Chris thanks for a great review but DJI have not addressed the internal battery problem, you can’t replace it like the Hero cameras. I have the Hero3 and still works perfectly. I also have the OP 1 and its dead. Overnight charging green light only blinks once (25%) and camera will not Power up. Spoke to DJI Help on line and they wont tell me the problem and insist I send it to the Netherlands for checking! Cannot find a UK DJI official repair site, is there one? For a big company they don’t, spoke to an official DJI drone site and they said they don’t repair OP’s only drones as they dont have the tech, any ideas? Thanks.

It seems 4K downsamples from 16MP and the 64MP is achieved by pixel-shift using the movement of the gimbal.

Hello! Could you tell me if Osmo pocket has a sleep mode or do I have to close it after every scene? I'm shooting travel/hiking vlogs and I want to know if between the scenes I can let it on or should I close it to save the battery?

for the same 4K quality , go for the pocket 1 plus wide angle lens.

The price for the first one basic package here in Norway is 175 and the pocket 2 content creator package is 700. So straight out of the package it's a better option to go with the first one, and by the lense add-on, extra mic and you're still halfway to the Pocket 2. When is the hdr version coming out?

Looking to get one, here in Brazil is 1.600 R$, the Hero 8 is around 2.200 R$, Osmo Pocket's quality is very good compared to many action cameras because of the sensor size.

A good summary, I'd say. I wouldn't get too excited about the "64MP" thing - it's a quad beyer sensor which kind of gives 64MP but general opinion seems to be that results on photos don't match the hype. The 12MP setting can look better. I believe that the 64MP bit comes into play more when zooming video and enables the result to be better (up to a point) than digital zoom in post production but not as good as optical zoom, of course. Some users have found that the battery saver mode gives better results in many situations, due to excessive noise reduction in the HQ mode, and that mode can exhibit some image smearing. I suspect an imminent firmware upgrade will address that issue, together with tweaks of the tracking feature, which has evident problems. Apart from the wider lens and better sensor and aperture etc, the key difference between the Pocket 1 and 2 are the remarkable audio features of the new model. In your test you used the default setting which turns on wind noise reduction, giving that processed sound - that's best avoided in my view unless the wind demands it. (Turn on Pro Mode to access the audio settings). With the Creator pack, you not only have the four inbuilt mics and their associated options, but also external mic input in stereo, headphone output (on the same socket), a small loudspeaker which is actually not a complete waste of time, and you have the wireless mic which in turn can be used as is, or with your own mono lav mic. I don't think there's anything on the market which provides all that out of the box. For travel, event and family videos, the immersive surround sound you get from the built in mics is first class. If blogging, you can set the camera to use only the "front" mic, in mono (which is the best comparison to using a lav mic, or the Pocket 1 mic), but the clever thing is that in fact all four mics are still being used, so that "front" means the direction in which the lens happens to be facing, not the direction that the handle is pointing. Likewise in full surround stereo mode - the soundfield rotates with the gimbal head. Very clever. The audio input on the handle has a good flat frequency response and I've used mine with an AT stereo shotgun mic with dead kitten on a windy day with excellent results. For most purposes, you really don't need an external audio recorder with the Pocket 2. You may be able to cover these aspects in more detail in a future review.

I own a P1, Fimi Palm and recently bought the P2 to compare. For as little as the difference is between the two I just can't justify the $500 price tag on the P2. I love DJI products but the Fimi Palm answered all of the shortcomings of the P1 and for half the price. I'm going to return the P2 and wait for DJI to drop the price as they are known to do. Can the ND for the pocket fit on the pocket 2

I have an Osmo Pocket. Love the camera. I just use it for family gatherings and trips. I was thinking about upgrading to the Osmo Pocket 2 but decided jump into the 360 Action camera arena. I bought an Insta360 One X2 for a different style of shooting video. I think they give me the best of both worlds for putting together basic videos of the kids and grandkids. I like your video. I have the following questions: 1.How much can you record continuously? i.e 15 minutes or unlimited (depending on SD card)? If I want to get a record continuous 30 min video is it possible with Pocket-2? I heard that it splits into a single file after 4GB, but the recording doesn't stop until the memory card is full. However, you need to import all the files and export them in a single video later. 2. Whenever its battery performance down, what is the solution to replace the battery (After some years)

Let me say it in a different way … pocket 2 is better unless you have the pocket 1 extension which will give you 20mm, tripod & 4 way stick . But you will not have the better sensors and digital zooming

DJI is deaf. I have a Osmo Pocket 1. They didn't respond to what people were asking about. Tripod mount, headphone jack, ethernet ... all the clones seemed to offer that, but image quality lacked in the clones. The new Pocket did do much to improve things. I would certainly consider other brands as they mature before buying a Pocket 2 as an "upgrade". Good Show!
