Very well explained. I'll try this one out. Also in tense situations you can still maintain the attack mentality but instead of using expressive you can use a disciplined approach just to ensure you don't lose defensive shape.

I led United to try this strategy, but after just two matches against Tot and Liv, I suffered a crushing defeat of 8 goals. It seems that only City is capable of using this tactic successfully.

Best way I've found is you have a CB central position and then CB just next to him so you have A CB centre and just left of him. You have the CB on the left on stay wider and can have them as BPD. You then have a WB in the WB position on the left and this creates the width but also creates a back 4 defending with a FB on support (hold position) on the right. You have a DM right side of centre as Anchor and a left CM on BWM support. You then have a winger on the attacking right position and inverted winger on the attacking left position. Have them mark the DL and DR positions respectfully. You have the central forward as an AF and then right of him you have a PF with roam from position. You can't create natural width with attacking players on FM and so the winger higher up acta that Bernado anyway coz they cut in when you're attacking. Having an inverted winger causes this too early. On the left you're more manipulating the sytem to create Grealish width with the inverted winger building play and the WB when you're at the top of the pitch. The BWM and Anchor do the best job of holding their position as roles because the ME forces CM's too high up the pitch. With this in mind I also play on cautious to try hold players back and I have hold shape ticked as counter just means everyone rushes forward

433 move the inside forwards up next to the striker so they are all in a line, us inside forwards who are opposite footed to the side the play on and have good shooting above 15. CD and the DM position will define your overall structure. As they can either get you clean sheets or can leak goals. So try to recruit decent players in those roles. For other clubs, i havent tested it will all the clubs, but had a decent few games with ajax. I guess It can suit well with madrid and psg because of the wide positioning
