i honestly cant get enough of the dkoldies saga its like a drug now

We know that covering dkoldies is frustrating for you and other KZfaqrs, but please don't give up on calling out these scammers. You have the platform and the followers. "With great power, comes great responsibly".

When I first read their name; I thought DK stood for Denmark, so I would have closer shipping distance. Fortunatley they aren’t; got protected from their scalping by geography

The DKOldies Saga continues, as it looks like their website is under attack. Being nosey, I spoke to an employee via their live customer service chat, and he said their team is ‘trying’ to fix the problem. As someone who used to build retail websites for a living, it looks like whoever attacked their website destroyed the website’s database. The website boots, but all the product pages are empty. It’s a database issue. If they don’t have a backup of their database, they are screwed. Lol

I don't think DKOldies will ever change their practices unless they get legal action taken against them. EDIT: Looks like they put an Arbitration and Class Action Waiver on their website saying that if you purchase from them that you waive your right to be apart of a class action lawsuit. What scummy practices. Why put that out if you aren't participating in suspect behavior.

As I've said before, I had 1 order with them. They were the cheapest for the GAMES I bought. And they were in good condition. Medium priced compared to past sales in other stores/sites. And I was happy with my purchase. But, I saw their prices for consoles and would never pay that much. The fact that they come like that in the reviews is disgusting and ripping peeps off. I am totally onboard with you all exposing em. Their sticker of warranty is illegal, FAKE, and a scare tactic. Thank you for what you (all) do!

These videos came out at a really good time. I was planning to send my old 3DSs to them hoping they could fix them, and maybe buy some older consoles too so I could start collecting. Glad I saw all these videos before I did.

I hope this drama never ends. It's the only thing getting me through work rn.

I seriously considered buying from them over 6 months ago and decided to find another vendor. Glad I did the research first.

I can't remember who said this, but he made a great point. DKOldies has absolutely no choice but to double down because if they actually do admit to not refurbishing consoles, they would automatically be blasted with a class action lawsuit. The hole they have dug themselves with their deceit is just sad.

I really hope some console refurbishing business with some integrity comes along some day. Because I actually really want people to be able to get some real refurbished products.

I was so close to buying a N64 from them, then I came across with the saga. Thank goodness.

They did a video on someone who gave them a positive review today, and that person made a video responding to them calling them out, apparently the video they were showing off was from months ago and the person now regrets buying from them

These videos are ten times more entertaining than anything on their social media lol. Keep the saga going.

Weird is when I had an email exchange with them. I mentioned that I had an entire bookshelf of old strategy guides. I asked if they would be interested in them. The person told me they dont deal in them. I noted in my email that I noticed they were becoming valuable on ebay. A few days later I got an email again. Unprompted... The email asked if I still had them and was I still interested in selling them. I was then asked to ship them all to them, and they would look them over and give me an offer on them. Why were you not interested and then two days later you are reaching out to me and interested in them. Also, why would I pay to ship 600 lbs of books without any kind of a guarantee in price? Needless to say; it seemed strange and fishy to me. So I decided to hang onto them.

Damn Rich, blessing us with half an hour of bird time. I can't believe I've been watching this channel for 10 years. Well spent.

It's been fun following this. I first discovered DKOldies through yt shorts and just thought not much of them, thought they were cool i suppose. Then i saw RTUSA making a couple vids on them and then followed that series. And now watching this whole debacle blow up is great. I'm very excited to see where this goes.

I will admit, that’s my Xbox review video. I made one of those review videos for fun after I found their TikTok and was doing an impression of Joey while I opened my OG Xbox I bought. I was naive to prices being a new gamer and just enjoyed their content. I made that video in August of last year and if you go back to it on their page it’s a longer video that Hunter & Britt did a stitch with. Was I surprised to seeing it used again with everything going on now, no, not at all, but heavily edited. I was honest in the comment of the reposted video & said the outside came clean, shipping was fast, prices were high, & it booted right up and still works. I’ve never opened the console to check the inside. Not until I’ve seen all these reviews from you guys did I think to do that. Thank you by the way for really putting the consumer first. I thought that’s what they were priding themselves on but it’s not and these desperate attempts to double down on lies is very disappointing. Love your page and keep doing what you’re doing & thank you for being an honest, reliable source. I see the light now!

I ordered a refurbished good condition gameboy color from them. It showed up with scratches, dents, scuffs, and a mismatched battery cover. Got mad. Put batteries in it and it didnt turn on. Tried different batteries, didnt turn on. Emailed them and they sent me another that was better but not great. First and last order with them.

If you've purchased a product from DKOldies you need to contact the office of the attorney general for PA and file a criminal complaint of fraud and conspiracy against the company. And, because they're presumably using the United States Postal Service to ship products and doing business across state lines, there may be a strong mail fraud case in federal court. But you absolutely have to contact the state of PA Attorney General and file a criminal complaint first to get the ball rolling. The more people who do this the better as it will encourage the office of the attorney general to take the matter seriously and get a more expedited response. This will also help prevent others from being taken advantage of moving forward.

Spawn Wave recently spoke about DK oldies and it was pretty interesting because, prior to him starting a KZfaq channel, he ran a store where he refurbished and fixed gaming consoles. He agrees that what they're doing is selling used consoles and listing them as refurbished incorrectly.

@ReviewTechUSA I was on my way to school today and I noticed that they had uploaded three of those “so and so just received their package, let’s watch them unbox it”. It baffles me how much they deflect their problems and convince themselves they are going about things the right way…

As the one who contacted DKOldies to ask about the warrenty, I am very happy to see that others have been made aware of it now, and I am a little supprised that nobody else reached out to them earlier

Even in their response telling a customer that opening the console doesn't void the warranty, DKOldies still managed to give the person warranty policy information that violates the Magnuson--Moss Act. Self-repair (the main reason for the "no sticker rule"), tampering, or modification are not legal reasons for voiding a warranty. Now, if you are modifying or repairing with unofficial parts you are potentially giving them a legal defense for voiding a warranty, but they still have to demonstrate that whatever you did actually damaged the product. They cannot refuse to warranty the product simply because you repaired or modified it.

Anyway i can send Rich the link to their first podcast? Or for him to look up "DKOldies Old School Silliness Begins" He would get a kick out of that and would be a nice reaction video

Sure, I collect retro systems and still enjoy buying games for them. And I get the appeal of DK Oldies video shorts. But yeah, the prices are way too high, even for "getting a service". The non refurbished products is ridiculous. I for one, love the birds. They are a great addition to the videos.

I hope people aren’t tired of these or think you’re making them for the sole purpose of milking it, because I whole heartedly love this entire saga and never want it to end

I watched a video of someone opening an N64 for DKoldies. The console would not work and they had to open it up, clean it, put it back together, and it started working. And I know it wasn't staged because they had a second n64 (from their collection) out at the same time and showed the second one was working.

I know some ppl are tired of these daily updates but am not. My car broke down the other day n I need something to look forward to during this sucky year.

I actually didn't know the warranty sticker isn't valid anymore in the states. Great to know.

Just watched DKOldies latest packaging order short, their sending Brandon a PS2 Slim with a 3rd party controller. It’s probably not even refurbished.

Rich look up GameGeekYT, he got a N64 and DKOldies sent him a filthy console and put a NEW sticker on it on top of the old sticker where they got it sent back to them, and it was filthy inside

Unfortunately they will never admit to not truly refurbishing their consoles because the second they do there will be a class action and they'd be done out of business

I got an N64 from DKoldies back I'm 2021. I remember opening the box in anticipation only to be a little confused as the console was dirty and grimey.

So here's something funny I've seen since this rash of videos came out. Well. Let me put things into perspective for you. I'm a full time Soldier, who gets paid 20 bucks an hour, from a friend who runs a vintage gaming shop. I refurbish systems for him, to include: Cap replacement, cleanings, thermal paste, resolder traces and install RGB and crap, if that's what a customer wants. I also do afterburner kits on Gameboys..you know the drill. We do warrant these and sell them at a premium. Though I personally repair and clean each unit, people think they should get the consoles cheaper now, because there is "no way" I've completed these services. They cite your videos, and DKOldies as an example. I invite the customers to open up each unit, but they don't care to, they just want a fully serviced console cheap. My friend buys these in lots, pays me and still has to make a profit. What's wrong with people?

What's really boggling my mind about this whole situation is how no one caught onto this until recently this is remarkable. I mean I guess you wouldn't truly understand how widespread the situation was unless every single person was opening their console (like they are now) to look inside. I mean the idea that they've been doing this for literally years with absolute impunity is kind of insane and yet it doesn't surprise me knowing how the world is these days. I mean this is one of those hiding in plain sight kind of scams like how did this go on for so long we're talkin not just over a decade but nearly two these guys have been in business like what is happening here?!

There is a small youtuber that showed one of their early videos where they used to do a crappy podcast with the owner. When you hear his story of how he got started everything makes sense. For one he used to be a car salesman thats the first sign he would run a scammy business. He sold a car cash to a lady and wanted to know how she paid cash and it was for selling pet supplies online. He said if this idiot can do it i can too.

As someone who cleans and restores my own systems, knowing how long it takes to do it properly, I was wondering how they could claim to refurbish ALL of their systems.... that is insane. My curiosity was ultimately correct, because clearly they are not. I've been doing this for decades now, and there was just no way.
