_______________________________
Comedian D.L. Hughley sat down with DJ Vlad to speak on a host of topics from his career trajectory to the current state of American politics. D.L. disclosed to Vlad being imbued in the Bloods at a young age but ultimately leaving knowing the way things end when one is involved in that lifestyle. The funnyman also discusses how he got into jokes by firstly using his humor to get girls, and how that led to his first million dollar check.
From there he spoke about Cosby's legacy and how he believes the allegations against him to be true. In discussing the political climate of Black America, D.L reveals his feelings on Hillary Clinton's 'super-predator' comment, white supremacy, Trump voters, Kaepernick being ostracized, and the state of being Black in America.
Watch the full interview above.

Well Sunshine👒 until you get ALL the answers to the questions about what's going on in YOUR own life; until you have solved all the mysteries about what YOU'RE going through on a day to day and a year to year basis; until those magical, mystical events happen you just make sure you don't worry yourself about D.L.'s life or anyone else's life for that matter being "clean" or not. In other words: You worry about your OWN fuck ups, mistakes and missteps that you commit in your own life because God is never going to ask you about any one else's. Now you can wipe your nose and go run and tell that.

I think about quite a few of the comedians who did not attend college e.g. Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, They are thinkers, intellectual, keen observers of the human condition. Your level of formal education does not define your intelligence. Dave Chappelle's parents were both college educators. He was doing stand up from around age 14. His father reasoned why go to college if it doesn't prepare you for what you will be doing?

As a teenager I grew up on 135th Street and Avalon Boulevard too - the Willowbrook District now called Maywood District of Los Angeles. I wasn't from The Fives (135th Street Pirus) because I moved from a Crip neighborhood (i.e. Main Street Mafia Crips). I had common sense and two caring parents NOT to gangbang, but I knew lots of Crips and Bloods. For the record, Compton actually starts near or on Central Avenue not Avalon. The Fives (who are part of the Compton Piru umbrella) are beefing heavy with the Barrio 13 (B13) - a Mexican surenos gang. Today me and DL Hugley's neighborhood has a heavy Mexican demographic (most Mexicans in that neighborhood are illegal immigrants). Drugs, gangs, and demographic shifting have affected Black people in Los Angeles, Compton (CPT), Inglewood, Gardena, etc. Black people MUST become a race-first people - like other races in America. Enough said.
