The Patient Story

Күн бұрын

The Patient Story founder Stephanie Chuang was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma at 31. Like many others, she was completely overwhelmed. After undergoing treatment she was able to reach remission. But throughout her cancer journey, she felt a great need for more options in treatment. She wanted to know, what are the treatments out there? What are the options? What should you be asking your doctor?
In this conversation, she speaks with Dr. Josh Brody, who leads the Lymphoma Immunotherapy Program at Mount Sinai and Dr. Lorenzo Falchi, an oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center with special research focus on immunotherapies for B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma. They discuss breakthrough therapies for DLBCL, immunotherapy and bispecific antibodies.
Special thanks to Genmab for its support of our patient education program!

Thank you for this. Very hopeful news discussed. I was fortunate to have the CAR-T treatment. It is amazing of the progress made in cancer research. I am very thankful for all involved. Side Effects After Treatment: Initially I had CRS (about 2 days); it took me over 2 years to feel the brain fog dissipate; now it's only low clouds sometimes; not 100% energy as before cancer, but it is adaptable; immune system is on the low side, but precautions are taken. I am a retiree.

Wow. Extremely Encouraging!!! Diagnosed aug 2022 diffused large B cell. Just completed full six treatments RCHOP. Trying to just catch my breath no hair no eyebrows no eye lashes out work almost six months. So weak. Fighting thru this praying that my follow up pet scan is clean. That will be late FEB. Watching this gives me such hope!! Many DR have used the term : this cancer you have this tripe of lymphoma. While fast moving n aggressive. Is TREATABLE!!! I say believe in miracles!!! Just finished the fourth treatment of R-CHP-Pola. PET scan looked good after three treatments. Hopefully can stop after four. Have neuropathy in feet and other side effects. Have been wondering what could have caused this, as if one could find the cause, you could stop that. Immunotherapy, a big step beyond cut, poison, burn.

Hi Stephanie, I received my first infusion today. My doctor, the nurses, and staff took great care with me, as well as other patients. The infusion lasted 5-1/2 hours. I am now 12 hours after. I have not experienced any side effects, except a mild fatigue, and that did not last. The nurses said that I did well. Thanks for your inspirational channel. Wilfred Wong

Recently found a lump growing to about the size of the top half of my thumb on my right inner thigh. It was later diagnosed with early stage DLBCL. Right now, my lump is almost completely disappeared and I still haven't started my R-CHOP treatment yet. One interesting I observed is that every time I took Mucinex DM pill for my cough, I noticed that the lump shrank. I tried to stop and start at different occasions, the lump shrinkage also correlated with it. This is probably just my imagination. It may be something else and nothing related to Mucinex DM. I just could not find other possible link so far. I tried to search online to see if any other DLBCL patient had similar experience like mine but found none.

@@IKSRTFO My 2nd PET scan in fact showed that the lump indeed significantly shrank without any chemotherapy treatment. Right now, I can not even feel any lump on my thigh anymore. I'm on a monthly in person monitoring now in case there are any symptoms of the cancer coming back. I'm feeling normal and fine. No chemotherapy, no medications to take. I'm hoping that the cancer never comes back.
