They are over 30 years old, and look like they got well toasted for at least 25 of them as well. Going to guess the PCB under them id no longer green either, and is equally cooked to a turn.

Wow, I've never seen such a thing! But how much heat and how long did those capacitors heat up ... 😯 In your opinion is it a quality problem of the capacitor, damage due to age or maybe both?🧐
