A true star in the making, nevermind competitions, we shall hear a lot of Mr. Ablogin in near future. His is a story similar to Daniil Trivonov's Chopin Competition. Anyway, Mr. Ablogin, along with all the finalists, are all Winners in my ears. They are all wonderful Artists. Thank you for all the emotions.

In my opinion, by far the most musically mature of all finalists, and the only one truly mastering this historical instruments (both musically and technically). Perhaps his introverted way of playing (which I find marvelous and full of nuances) is not appreciated in this kind of competitions.

@@andreas2030 play with emotion is a good way for the piano playing in the modern time, so keep the right thing what we make the progress between the old time, right? its not a rarely thing that other pianists play better than the composer.

@@andreas2030 No they would allow him, but they wouldn't award him the first place. "Though technically perfect, his play was outlandish, at times over-romantic and the tempi not well kept. He even deviated from the written sheet music contradicting the composer's intention."

The Jury disliked the introverted Chopinesque way. I wonder if they would like Chopins playing, which is described as extremely introverted, smooth and colorful.

@@hkbrightshadow4225 They play at one of the highest standards in the world. It was wrong to rule out Dmitry, but the idea that Polish standards are low is false. Competitions are based on quality in relation to other contestants.

a real competition means not only in sounds ,articulation, ideas about melody, but also techniques ,emotions, the way of touching piano ,and control of dynamic...... piano music has developed very far from the old time. Each pianist who can win the competition, of course play with a great emotion. because it gives more touch to the audience and jury. Also nobody has really saw how chopin himself's playing, but it's not a very hard thing to understand,he already wrote lots of words to explain how the feeling he need in each places of the score, absolutely not play like a robot. In fact, Chopin has a strong Polish national spirit. His works are full of energy and express the Polish national.

Young Mr Aboglin's performance was masterful, but I'm left with the impression that the Pleyel itself may have handicapped his score considerably. While the instrument has a beautiful, warm sound -- and was beautifully suited as a solo instrument in his wonderful performance of the Second Sonata in the second stage -- that same mellow warmth blends into the orchestra FAR too much, burying notes and obscuring runs that appear otherwise perfectly executed. (in contrast, the considerably brighter but annoyingly plunky-sounding Erards contrast with and stand out from the orchestra considerably more.) BTW, kid, straighten your back -- the hunching will eventually wreck your ability to perform...and you are indeed a master young musician, too soon to have your musical career cut short by painful spinal problems.
