Have you ever wondered how doctors and nurses work together? Join me in the ICU, meet some amazing ICU nurses and hear about what doctors can do to annoy them!
As a resident, our rotations typically last 1 or 2 months in a given location. That means that I need to learn how the team works, how people communicate, where things are on the unit, in addition to managing patients! It can be a bit overwhelming and uncertain at the beginning. You do notice that some residents fit in easily, while others can develop negative reputations. I believe everyone is coming in with good intentions, trying to be the best doctor and team member possible... so what goes wrong?
The reason this is so important is because better communication and team work will hopefully reflect in better patient care!
