Do Head Gasket Sealers Actually Work? (FULL 1 yr TEST on a Toyota Century!) Bar's Leaks HG-1

Replacing a Head Gasket can be difficult and expensive. Sometimes your car is not worth fixing and this is where a head gasket sealer in a bottle comes in handy. Do these head gasket sealers actually work? How long do they last? How do they work? How does a car with bad head gasket perform?
In this video I show you how to use a head gasket sealer to repair the head gasket and test it for 1 yr + and 8,047 miles.
Bar’s Leaks Professional Head Seal Carbon Fiber Blown Head Gasket Repair is the strongest antifreeze-compatible solution on the market, period. It penetrates a leaking, damaged or blown head gasket, drying to form a seal that’s actually stronger than the original head gasket itself.
DIRECTIONS (Note: Protect from freezing.)
1. Install only in a cold engine. Shake bottle well. Remove radiator cap and pour the correct amount of product in per the dosage chart. Fill radiator and reservoir / overflow tank to proper level and reinstall radiator cap. TIP: Radiator cap may be on top of radiator, on engine, mounted on a hose, or a screw cap on the pressurized reservoir overflow tank.
2. Turn heater on hot and fan on high. Run engine until thermostat opens or normal operating temperature is reached. Turn vehicle off and allow engine to cool. This may take up to 30 minutes or longer.
3. Top off radiator (add coolant as needed) and either run engine at high idle (approximately 1200 RPM’s for vehicles with a tachometer) or gently drive for 15 minutes. Turn vehicle off and allow engine to cool.
4. Top off radiator and leave Bar’s Leaks Head Seal Blown Head Gasket Repair in system for continued protection. Drive vehicle as normal. Most leaks seal instantly, but some can take additional thermocycles which happen over a few days of usage.

@@JCMFix 😂most of the times it doesn’t work very long.Even have a small head gasket leaking it only can fixed it temporarily for 1-2 months max.

i had a blown head gasket the coolant mixed to the engine oil and a white smoke coming from the tail pipe..i used 1100 bars blown head gasket repair on my 96 honda civic i didnt follow actually the draining instruction just one drain thats it but the white smoke and coolant mixing to the engine oil was stop it sealed permanently..after a few months i changed the engine for some other issue..

Hey bro I got a Audi A3 8p can I throw the headgasket sealer into the water bottle cuz it doesn't have a radiator cap

If that reservoir tank/bottle aka Degas bottle is in fact where your pressurized antifreeze coolant is supposed to go, than most likely that's where you would put the head gasket sealer. First check your service manual for the actual location and fill procedure then search what other YT videos show about replacing their coolant for that particular Audi A3 and then have at it if you feel this product will work for you. Отличный вопрос брат. Ответом на ваш вопрос является видео, которое в данный момент находится в процессе. В общем, зависит. Многие люди, как правило, не имеют проблем с радиаторами отопителя, но у меня были. он засорился. Возможно, если бы я использовал чистый антифриз с добавлением дистиллированной воды, возможно, все было бы иначе. Я не уверен, как сохранить его от засорения. Как видите, я использовал предварительно смешанный антифриз 50/50. Я не знаю, связано ли это с этим. И да, мне холодно, когда я веду машину в данный момент. ржу не могу. Я скоро это исправлю.

keep in mind, these products CAN help DEPENDING on how bad the head gasket/gaskets are dmg'd. if its a small leak spot these tings may help, may not.

Umm, that wasn't white smoke it was just vapor.

@@Sk8StGeorge Yes that clip was in the winter but it was white smoke. It was smoking since the summer and I finally was able to get to it It was really bad. As of June 2024, no more white smoke. It's still going strong.

I'm not clear on torqueing the radiator to 13 ft/lbs.

Not torque. It's 13 pound-force per square inch (psi). It's the unit of measurement regarding the amount of boiling point pressure that the OEM radiator cap can hold. That's equivalent to 0.9 bar.
