In 1983, a 22-year-old Ferran Adrià took over the kitchen of the traditional French restaurant elBulli on the Spanish Costa Brava. In the ensuing three decades, the chef would transform the space into one of the most trailblazing and influential culinary destinations in the world, propelled by a philosophy that emphasised endless creativity, investigation and an open diffusion of the restaurant’s innovations.
elBulli retained three Michelin stars from 1997 until it closed in 2011. Together with Spanish telecom company Telefónica, Adrià turned the space into a foundation for culinary research without the constraints of a restaurant’s day-to-day operations. This venture, elBulli Foundation, opened in 2013 and more projects came along after that.

Can we respect the fact that she is not translating, she is interpreting. She has been working with him for a large number of years. Her job is to take what he is saying and make it sound comfortable at a very fast speed. Ferran doesn't slow down. I think she is doing her best. Some of it she has heard for a while so she knows the gist of what he is trying to say.

La traductora hace un buen trabajo, dadas las circunstancias. No es nada fácil entender a alguien tan poco articulado y tan mediodislexico como Adriá.

La crisis de Europa no está en crisis > los sectores de sanidad y educación, sino más bien los sectores de Sanidad y Educación ( y no, por) en crisis ... Aquellos mismos factores que le dieron causa y que ahora pretender dar solución. A todo esto me encanta Ferran Adrià y su explicación con las Uvas, es único. Me encanta.

La traductora mete la pata en momentos cruciales... Y sufro. Cierto es que la articulación de Adrià no es impecable pero... Interesante en cualquier caso.

A un niño hay que enseñarle a convivir, disciplina, números y letras. Todos no vamos a ser cocineros cuando comiendo patatas y arroz no faltan nutrientes esenciales. Todo eso es humo.

Everyone might think he is a genius, but i thought he was just making a story all over the place, what is the point if there're no demand of people who really need "creative cuisine" today, if there're thousands of food raising which made the cuisine looks like high fashion which not many peoples can reach tho.

You missed the whole point of the grape story, the seed of haute cuisine grows and flows down into all other cuisine. Haute cuisine shapes what we eat, the techniques they develop slowly filter down and change the way everyone cooks. Like the sous vide; first used for haute cuisine and now they sell sous vide machines for home use

mediodeslexico ?? espanol no es mi primer idioma pero que lo intiendo perfectamente - es que no so ella traduce mal pero que cambia lo sentido do que elle habla - es deplorable.

She made some simple mistakes, tho I think she was just nervous

She did fine. She’s translated for Albert as well during some of his talks. Ferran did not help her by slowing up a bit and she’s not just translating, she’s interpreting. Albert does a better job of taking his foot off the throttle and making sure she’s hearing and able to think about what’s being said. Ferran is rattling off.
