A common question I get is whether I regret selling my Mercedes CLA 45 AMG, which I owned for 3 years prior to my current facelift C43 AMG. Both cars are pretty different even though there's only about 10hp difference between either of them.

With the new CLA 45 S near enough £60,000 in the UK, the 2017 CLA 45 in the used car market is looking very attractive right about now... thoughts?

Isn't there also an option for CLA 35?

Yes there is, but at near £40k to 'downgrade' (if you had an A45 or CLA 45) just hurts the heart too much

Zubair Hoque it’s not down grading unless you have the brand new cla 45/ a45. The 35 is identical to the new 45 just slower. If you’re bothered by that get it mapped. Also the 35 sounds better than the the 45 lol

@@fayahmad9063 the engines are completely different (new 45 vs new 35)... i think you mean the new 35 is similar to the old 45

Thanks for the insightful video. For those in the market I would highly recommend test driving the c43. As for the sport seats, I would also recommend test driving with/without if possible before making a decision. The c43 is already a firm riding car and the sport seats only increase that firmness imo. They are also an expensive option. I get why a race car guy would want them, but for every day driving....mmmyeah I didn’t want them lol. They do look very cool though! Regarding the cla45, I admit I never drove one but I’ve sat in them and to me there is no comparison to the c43...not even close haha!

I'm a huge fan of both the C43 and CLA45 both great 4 Wheel Drive AMG platforms! However, would you say the the older preface lifted C43 sounded better, as this was before the dreaded PPF that I believe now comes with all the newer AMG like yours?

Hey there, I am looking forward to buy a used a45 from 2014. Can I drive this cars for more then 3-5 years or will I face problems which are gone cost a lot?

I like the butterfly tail lights better than the facelift version of the cla . But i like the front better in the facelift 🤦🏻‍♂️. Dont know what to do

I know you said avoid pre-facelift C43 models, but I actually think the opposite. You can get insane price savings vs the new facelift model on used cars, up to a £5-£10k difference (same spec) just for 6 months age difference. I put the 2019 OEM facelift quad exhausts/diffuser and OEM 19" Matt black wheels on my 2018 C43 (both were a straight swap & fit and did not affect my warranty), together that cost me under £2.5k including fitting, so I still saved a small fortune compared to buying a used facelift model. So whilst I don't get the fancier interior that the new facelift model has (I actually don't mind having tactile buttons on the wheel vs touch knobs), I still saved around £7.5k even after my wheel/exhaust costs, due to being able to negotiate a much more aggressive price vs the face-lift model. This was last year though. Just something to consider.

The pre-facelift also has a nicer exhaust note due to no opf. Considering that I can get a used 2017 with around 50k km for under 40k canadian(that’s like £25k), it made a lot more sense than leasing a newer one or buying a slightly used one for almost double that! I also prefer the diamond grill but that’s subjective, the exhaust up shift on the other hand, wow!

Sounds much more aggressive without that particulate filter in the exhaust..the one thing I hate about my current C43

Interior of the pre face lifted one is dated af though, any merc pre 2019 is just dated compared to the new ones that how much they’ve elevated

Fay Ahmad I agree fully, but it’s also like 15k in your bank, at least where I live. The new one also comes out in less than a year probably so both interiors are going to be dated soon enough

Sameer Ahmad yeah the price is a big step up that’s the only downside. The new c43? Didn’t think about that! So this current set up will be dated in a years time as the new c43 will have the long screens like the new clas. I think best thing to do for me personally is to buy the new cla 35/45s depending on your budget. Most upto date interiors and tech plus you won’t see everyone driving one.
