That's why I'm so thankful to my English teacher in college. She was very nice and polite and even though she had to teach us some grammar and vocabulary as every teacher does, she also had conversations with us during every class and she always asked us about our opinions on sth. You had to talk during these classes and she wasn't strict, she was minimize the level of stress, she helped you when you didn't know sth and when you were in the fix. From this time I gained confidence to have conversations in English with everyone, she really taught me to speak.

+DuchAmagi Good for you! I always feel some awkward tension in English class so it would be nice to relieve some of that stress with a teacher like the one you had. Having conversations with the students is a very nice way of adapting to the language and it makes it just easier for you to use it in everyday life. I just feel lucky for having friends who can speak English so I can speak it on daily basis , otherwise I don't think I could've learnt English just from classes. It's bad that most people get their knowledge about English only from schools where it isn't taught the right way. I'm sure someday it'll be better, but for now we just gotta deal with it :).
