5:17 The phrase “to perform conviction” really hit home for me today. My entire career as a practicing Protestant could be described as “performing conviction”. Not from any intent or willingness to deceive in the usual sense, but because I felt it incumbent on me as a practitioner to speak in greater conviction than I felt. My understanding then was that greater faith would be my reward, so that it was almost like a promise. “I say now that I know Christ is Lord in the full confidence that shortly God will grant me a heart which is that deeply convicted”. My deconstruction and abrupt deconversion turned largely on these points. “This is a bit of a pretense; I am acutely aware of the pretense; and the pretense is increasingly difficult due to persistent and frequent cognitive dissonance. What if I just stopped pretending at all?”

@@creamwobbly First, you have been rightly called out for making false claims about how Muslims treat Muhammad. Second, "child molester" is a claim that demonstrates you know nothing other than "he married a six-year-old and consummated the marriage when she was nine." When she was six, her family faced starvation and death. The one way to ensure their lives was to marry the one single female in the group. Legal arrangement. As for the consummation, I've not looked into it, but the questions of whether he had to at least claim he did to keep the marriage from being dissolved and whether he actually did anything or just used "she was in my bed all night, are you going to get nosy?" stand unanswered. TL;DR: She's the only child bride he ever took. The circumstances were heroic and not a groomer scenario. It serves hatred to ignore what legal issues may have surrounded the consummation. Assuming we all know what happened in their bedchamber to satisfy the law is salacious nonsense barring proof of copulation that can't be faked. I do not recall Judaism requiring a penetration check. I doubt early Islam was more invasive in those days.

I've read that website before and the 63779 "cross-references" actually include thousands of contradictions in the Bible. I myself found several hundred and I'm not even a Bible scholar. If you look deeply into the "law" for instance you can find that it's a big mess, contradicting with itself.

That the authors intended to cross reference is a claim. The lack of evidence to support the claim is evidence that the claim is unsupported. Saying that an unsupported claim is unsupported isn't bias, it's simple logic. A rainbow colored giraffe farted the universe into existence. There's absolutely no "data" that indicates they did or they didn't. You are once again reading your own bias into my claim to have an outcome that fits your methodology when you say that there's no evidence they did.

The cross reference is a real thing. Heiser noted the need to read the Bible as a book where you would later come across what you saw initially. Regardless, the Bible supports this cross references. I am not with you on this one.
