The foam koozie has always been a favorite. Typically it's best if you are drinking it right away, just want to keep it cool for 15-30 minutes so the bottom doesn't heat up (from your hand). I wouldn't expect it to be a great insulator for hours, but this was a cool experiment to see!

I had no idea the coozie was even supposed to keep the drink cold. I've always thought it was to keep the drink from being uncomfortably cold in your hand after you pull it out of the ice chest or cooler. Like an oven mitt, but for cold drinks.
@Ujiyo

For those types of products to work properly, you have to prime them for approximately half an hour. Double walled vacuums take some time to get to their desired temperature. For example, if you fill a double walled bottle with something cold, and the bottle isn't primed cold, it won't work as well. Same for hot. Put a koozie in the fridge for half an hour or the night before if you know you're going to be using it the next day. It'll be primed and perform much better. This goes for ALL double walled vacuum containers. That's where they're getting their numbers from. It's the same as ammunition velocities printed on the box. Usually optimistic, but, using the same methods they used to get the numbers, will typically replicate the numbers.

yeah you're probably right but if you're outside drinking with friends and family. you're not going to be waiting a half hour between a drink or 2 to chill your koozie to keep it working at prime temps. if you're doing a one off drink or 2 then yeah you're fine chilling. I do it with the chiller mugs but mostly just for 1 drink. then its back to about room temp. unless you plan to buy a bunch of them and switching them out per drink which can work. that would take up a good amount of fridge/freezer room though. having a bag of them plastic ice cubes can work for this also. there is a bunch of different kinds of them fake ice cubes. I wonder if Tyler has made a vid about them yet and all the kinds of them. they're cheap and there is a bunch in a bag and you just clean them off or switch them out as needed. they don't water down your drink and some can last a long time but some are junk and just leak after a bit of using them.

For instance here, other than price, what other factors go into making a decision as to which you should purchase? I would add things like, how much each koozie weighs? What are their diameters (some are more comfortable in the hand than others). What textures are they, do they grip well in the hand? Do they have coated or rubber bottoms? Does "xyz" company offer them in various colors? Things like that. I sure know more about Koozies now than I did a half hour ago, lol

I came here to say the same thing. The whole point of these koozies is to keep a closed can cold during travel, with the plan of opening and drinking the beverage at a later time. When he opened them at the start of the test, it immediately defeated their intended purpose.

@pkwiva
@pkwiva 2 жыл бұрын
@@priceeubanks9341 I respectfully disagree. It's more than a nice feature. Keeping a closed can cold during travel is the primary feature of these metallic, insulated koozies. It's similar to a travel mug which also provides the same type of insulation. Even the brand name "Ozark Trail" implies that it's intended for travel. If someone plans on drinking a beverage immediately, they'll just drink it without the need for one of these metallic, insulated koozies. The secondary, nice feature of the koozie is to prevent your hand from touching the can. This helps keep the beverage colder by preventing the warmth of your hand from transferring to it, while also providing some added comfort and style. Now the traditional fabric/foam koozie on the other hand, is less about insulating a closed can and more about adding comfort to the drinking experience while providing a negligible amount of insulation. These traditional kinds of koozies are more geared towards drinking the beverage immediately, but they are vastly different from these metallic insulated koozies that are marketed for travel.

To get the 10 hour chill time, you have to start off with the ozark, rtic, and yeti from the freezer. If you freeze them, they last way way longer. Even with the coolers you do that, you have to chill the coolers, to get the maximum ice retention. Might give that a try and see if you get better results.

This is so random but this man should test the best paper plates from different brands
@green7449
@green7449 2 жыл бұрын
I would love that. So many times has my mom bought cheap paper plates that just absorb the juices from meat or spaghetti sauce. I can’t stand a soggy paper plate, might as well just put your food on some paper towels. A test to see how much weight the plates can hold before buckling and dumping food everywhere and an absorbency test.

There's no point honestly, except for the foam with transportability and weight, and the one with suction cups on the bottom, the Thermos is the most comfortable, quickest to swap cans, fits in cup holders, lightweight and low profile and depending on where you look, as cheap as the Ozark.

Enjoy your videos. I've also purchased a bunch of these coolers and there is one important thing you neglected to evaluate in your video. Most of these coolers are so thick that they don't fit in a cup holder, except for maybe the Thermos one. I have several of the Thermos brand in my vehicles and think it's the best, especially for the price.

Idea from old video you asked about Tyler. I want you to try the carbonated sauce. Going back trying your favorites and the non carbonated to see if there is a taste difference. Plus add others now knowing the concinsty your looking for in sauce. I have no clue but maybe the protein can't coming from egg or fat. And add some of course.
