Lol dude what do you think you're smelling when you smell something? Chemical vapors, aerosolized liquid, micro particulate, you can't smell anything if there is no compound in the air, it's what gives you the scent. Pine trees have terpines that are volatile and largely are responsible for the pine smell, its just the terpine vapor hitting your nose's sensors (I forget wtf they're called). It'd be cool if that air bottle aerated the water with microbubbles or something, that's what I thought it was going to do. But yea, just a science PSA for you there buddy.

The steel flexible hose he was talking about is used for gas installations in homes and businesses. It's a spiral steel "hose" with a rubber coating on the outside, but it's normally yellow and also doesn't have preinstalled end connections. I think a good general rule of thumb is "do not buy the viral TikTok anything." My dad is a master German cutlery maker, 3rd generation. A real test for sharpness isn't a freaking pineapple. It would be cutting something with tons of give like a tomato, very fine, without mushing it. Another good test is holding a paper up. If the knife cuts through paper without ANY resistance or tearing whatever, you have yourself a good knife. Guys, if you're in the market for an amazing knife, go with Wüsthof. Chef Ramsay uses them, not some random bozos on the internet. They've been around for hundreds of years.
@Sinyao

@@Sinyao wow that's really nice of them!! I can understand that people don't want to spend $60-$100 for a single knife, but as I get older I'm realizing that if you put down more money up front for something of high quality, that thing is going to last you a lifetime if you treat it well. Instead of dishing out $20-$30 every year, over the course of 5 years or less you would have spent that money anyway, possibly more. Take care of that set and you won't ever have to buy another knife for as long as you live!

Buy yourself a 10-dollar 2-in-1 whetstone and save yourself 50 bucks by just sharpening any junk knife you already have. I'm not even close to "good" at sharpening a knife and I've had guests use my kitchen knives and gush over how high quality the knife must be only for me to tell them it is one of those 50 dollars for a set of 6 wallmart deals that I sharpen once a year. I'm sure a 500-dollar forged in the heart of mt. fukkisaka and quenched in the blood of virgin knives is better but really my junk knife can cut a ripe tomato just fine and I don't cry if my wife uses it to pry open a can or something silly.

the way "I" look at knives, is that they are going to lose their edge over time and use...what I want to know is "How do you sharpen that blade?" with the serrations and all, do you flat grind one side only? If that had NOT been a serrated edge, can you imagine the destruction of that edge? It wouldn't have cut anything after the brutal test. Thankfully none of us are going to be cutting hose, rope or hacking a downspout in the kitchen during 'chefly duties'...so it would probably remain fairly sharp. On the other hand, no 'real' chef would be buying this brand of knife anyway.

I wondered how long it was going to take before you mentioned it as having a surrated blade. Although serrations allow a blade to endure more, I would no try to shave with one... ever. The dude could have (I am not saying; did) easily switch knives after each function when needed and used a brand new knife.

I remember the guys demonstrating Gensu knives in grocery stores and at the state fairs years back. Their trick was they would focus all the abuse to the very back of the blade and then use the tip part of the blade to slice tomatoes so thin you could see through them. TAA DAA!!! Indestructible impossible to make it dull. Oh and obviously theyd use a new knife every demo.

Those old Ginsu knives are actually pretty decent. I have a few I got from my mom from when she bought her set back in the late 70s. They’re still sharp. The handles have not broken. They cut up raw chicken and other meat nicely, still. Definitely were worth their cost.

Cool video, but when you're hacking things, you should keep the blade in line with your swing. I did something similar with a titanium coated fancy pants knife and it snapped and impaled my leg. Fun times.

Gotta also remember that a full steel knife is going to be a lot more durable to bending and tearing than titanium. Titanium is harder than steel, but also more brittle and prone to snapping under too much pressure rather than simply bending. Probably what played a big part in a piece landing in your leg. Titanium is just a marketing thing. It does on average keep an edge longer with a quality coating, but honestly, with just a couple swipes on a sharpening rod and a few on a honing steel rod you can keep a full steel knife's edge for years and years, wouldn't even miss titanium coatings.

@NoNamer123456789 2 жыл бұрын
@@point-five-oh6249 Titanium is not harder than steel, you can't harden it like steel. It's more like a mix between aluminium and heat treated steel, though you can carbidise it.

Any product that shows how sharp it is on certain objects. Then damage is done to it and they don’t go back to the original objects it was cutting to prove its sharpness is a total sham. Every paid advertisement relies on people being total fools to sell most of these products. Good for you Tyler on showing people so they don’t get scammed. 👍👍👍👍

Very enjoyable presentation. Years ago, there was this knife, I think it was the Ronco brand. While the 'salesman' was comparing it to another knife, if you had watched very carefully, he would literally press down hard on the tomato when showing how dull the competitor's knife was, thus giving the illusion that the competitor's knife was dull.

Only thing I have is that there is indeed steel reinforced hoses on the interent to buy. Nothing special or sacred about it, just a simple garden hose reinforced with mesh steel on an inside layer. Just search for "steel reinforced garden hose" and you'll find exactly that. But the knife would ofcourse cut through that easily as it's just mesh steel and the blade of the knife is serrated.

Test 2 Miracle Blades. Put one in a vice blade up now take the second knife and try and cut threw it length ways so it’s blade to blade. It should make a break in the time space continuum because they can cut threw anything and never get dull so they should be able to cut threw each other at the same time as not taking damage to the blade. BOOM time travel.

So I did, I got home and opened the box, to my surprise, it was the one she used for the demonstration, what a piece of junk!! I was so pissed off!!!!!! Never would i buy these "MAGIC" knives nor would anyone who uses them for cooking put them through this type of torture. You might as well sharpen a flat screwdriver and use it as a chisel.
