the card name "Reenact the Crime" is such a fun phrase to use to announce you double dipping into your -or someone else's- shenanigans. Honestly I want to try it just to say "And I will kill again" when I cast it. Also "Incinerator of the Guilty" might be one of the most metal card names I've seen in a hot minute.

The most likely card for me to buy is Meddling Youths so I can make a Rule Zero Scooby doo deck

I’ll be honest - I am VERY excited for this set. I play a sacrifice/clue/artifact deck, so so many of these cards are amazing. Persuasive Interrogators and Case of the Stashed Skeleton especially I can’t wait to possibly use!

Also in the world of "oh look, we broke the broken card," Anzrag's Rampage says artifacts put into all graveyards, not just the stuff it blows up itself, so if you can sac enough artifacts before casting it to exile your deck you can drop a Thassa's Oracle and win on the spot.

Super excited for this set, the themes just speak to me and the decks I generally build. I think I've settled recently on doing a Prerelease, and getting one Bundle, scratches the itch of opening SOME packs at least, get a nice box for storage, get some games in at the LGS, and then I pick up singles of anything else I like after a week or so (and then draft for funsies on top if it's a nice draft set)

First time since 1993 that they put all 10 Color pairings of lands in the same set. It's like they are remembering BALANCING THE GAME. That's great!

I was so excited when I saw the revamped Morph mechanic: disguise. I was looking at the Faceless meanace precon from 2019 and heard about deadly disguise and got so excited. I am going to use the two commanders to make 2 decks filled with morph and disguise. Slime against humanity is also super neat. Also, Voja, my beloved. (I refuse to use the Mole )

Love the intro, neat choice of cards, but really I have to commend you for the genre crossover promotion. I used to buy comics a lot and every so often there would be a plot line that went through two or more different franchises by the same publisher. Some times yes, the connection was a stretch, sometimes you had no idea what was happening since you had not read that prior issue, yet sometimes you go to check out that thing you didn’t think was for you and find out that you were very wrong about many of your assumptions. Most of my noncommander decks are not modern legal due to using premodern cards, so to me, I just saw pioneer as the new modern and assumed I would need maybe just $500 for a viable deck as supposed to the typical $1000 of modern decks (last I checked idk, I hear Tarmogoyf might be in a Commander’s Quarters deck list soon, I mean, it isn’t like it was replaced by a juiced Raging Goblin, right?) however most of the cards mentioned were not rares and even if the uncommons get into Bala Ged Recovery prices, that is far more affordable than dropping $40 a card on standard. I got sidetracked, but the point is: great inclusion and side sell to the Pioneer list. Having already watched I agree that there are things in it for commander players and maybe someone watching will try pioneer for the first time.

Vandalblast is always mana value 1, even if you pay the 5 to overload it, so it can be countered by Mental Misstep but gets under a Lavinia, while Anzrag’s Rampage can be countered by Disdainful Stroke but draws a card off of Up the Beanstalk. These differences aren’t noticeable in most commander games, but the cEDH players sleeving up Ad Nauseam will notice a differenc

Great video professor, thank you! I added some cards to my wants list right away. However I disagree that Anzrag's Rampage is 'strictly better' than Vandalblast. The latter has the option to remove an artifact for 1 mana, for example a Sol Ring or Lightning Greaves early game. It also costs two red, which makes it slightly harder to cast in a three+ color deck. For the rest, the Rampage is indeed better.

One random lucky person in the Signet pile should get a signed Tolarian College that's been altered with a sharpie (Look at that, good ol Sharpie!) to say Community College! Great video prof!

I pre-ordered the 4 Commander decks and did not buy any sealed boxes. There are some good reprints in these decks. I do not like the 10 lands because they come into play tapped. I did not expect these cards to be in your top 5. Thank you for the video Professor.

I heard somewhere that the "surveil" lands are called "dumpy" lands, because if you dont like the top card, you can dump it. Soooo at my kitchen table, they are dumpy lands.

Excited for a new, cheap, useful insect in the kraul. My Grist deck runs 33 insects, and it’s not a particularly strong tribe.

Idk about strictly better vandal blast. Blast let’s you pop one thing for a single red if need be which is pretty efficient, and you won’t take 5 off of ad naus.
