Yo guys, I am still in the north eastern part of India and there is one state on my list that everybody advised my against visiting. It is the state of Manipur. Manipur is a state in northeastern India, known for its rich history and diverse ethnic makeup. It shares borders with Myanmar and several other Indian states like Nagaland, Mizoram, and Assam. The state has a population of approximately 2.8 million, with Imphal as its capital. The recent clashes in Manipur, which began in May 2023, are rooted in ethnic tensions between the majority Meitei community and the Kuki and other tribal groups. The immediate cause of the violence was the Manipur High Court's directive to consider granting Scheduled Tribe status to the Meiteis, a move opposed by the Kuki community as it could affect their land and employment rights. This sparked protests that escalated into violent clashes, resulting in significant loss of life and displacement of thousands of people. The violence has been exacerbated by the involvement of armed groups and a lack of effective governance, leading to widespread suffering, especially among the most vulnerable populations. Enjoy!

Bro your information about the clash are incorrect .. Pls, need correction ....the main reason is illegal immigrant KUKI want to seperate from Manipur and form KUKILAND ...but metei the indeginous people of Manipur din't want .....Meitei want protect our Land ....MANIPUR have 2500 and above history of kingdom all the king are from MEITEI community ....KUKI was coming in Manipur after 1890(subject to correction).....but kuki want kukiland ...its not immpossible

Ur description information is wrong. Lots of illegal immigrants from Myanmar enter manipur due to military coup in Myanmar. And they settle down in reserved forest area. And start poppy cultivating and government start talking action and start biometric in hills area then the war start. ST is not the issue here.

Hello Mete Vice. It feels nice you visited our state but you missed a couple of fun things here in Imphal. If you wanna enjoy night vibes in Imphal its better you visit Places like Thangmeiband , Singjamei , Kwakeithel where you can try out different street foods and relax. If you wanna try some ramen 🍜 The best place I will suggest you will be Teriyaki Trails. And if you wanna go bar and have some fun go to Dorsia which is in thangmeiband. Hope you visit again.😊

But most of them do understand english even if they can't speak properly. It is hardly spoken rather than some events or like among friends groups or rich families, people who speak English aren't really common but there are people who speak English. So you're wrong if you assume people here don't know how to speak English. It's almost the same conditions compared to those of other states.

The hills are reside by mixed community like Naga, mao,nepali, n kuki ... So don't ever hesitate to come n visit hills area.. I'm sure u won't regret it... Places like Dziikou valley would be mesmerize to see it... So many more.. Also people from hills side would give you better tourist guide im English better than the valley's if u ever visit.. 😊

Welcome to Moirang,Bishnupur district, Manipur to see loktak lake. Most of foreign tourists also visited there it's a tourist spot. U could also be able to stay in this town .. Hotel is available there for staying.

Nice to see your blog bro. Here in IMPHAL people usually don't speak much of HINDI and ENGLISH so you may face communication problems. And yeah whenever you take a tuk tuk go for one with sharing. Some drivers at times take advantage of foreigners and charge extra. Don't forget to try shingju it's one of the most famous delicacies in MANIPUR. Manipur has conflict going on but it's at the border area of hill and valleys beside its between the people of Manipur so no harm on any tourist . Don't hesitate to visit any area in IMPHAL or even hill areas . And yeah we MANIPURI greet people with the word " KHURUMJARI " . Not many people will understand NAMASTE in Manipur. Do enjoy your stay in MANIPUR 👍

@metevice The building you entered after the public library is called GM hall. Full form of GM is Gandhi Memorial named after the Mahatma Gandhi. Its a public theatre, concerts, public events happened at this place.

Hope you enjoyed your stay here. Takes balls to visit despite the conflict. However, do visit these "touristy" places next time : 1. Kangla : ancient fort of Manipur , still maintained 2. Loktak : world's only floating lake , inhabits Sangai (endemic) (at Keibul Lamjao National Park) 3. Japanese War Memorial : self explanatory (Japs were here in WW2) 4: Khongjom war complex: yes, another war complex 5. Foods : - Taste of Kakching :traditional fritters and other cuisine - Dolly momo : local eat out place - momos, sausage etc - Luxmi kitchen : thali food - Harvest cafe , Char-koal , Cjakhum : "fine dining" restaurants Tip : we really don't have a "city center" per se but there is a lot of cool places in and around here, so hook up some local (preferably someone volunteering ) if you are comfortable and tour around.

The cold war on the internet, especially on the comment section, is overwhelming and disturbing. They just hijack and bombard any mentions about their state. These two communities wouldn't get along well even after 100 years I suppose. I hope they find peace and settle their difference on time.
