Game is using lumen, that's why majority of GPU's can't handle it, because majority of GPU's aren't just good enough to run games with ray tracing. Try running Cyberpunk 2077 with RT preset and you'll see how it runs just as bad as this. And Cyberpunk is well optimized game already.

Idk, UE5 seems to be more polished in some new games than UE4 to me.

It's not really that it requires an Arc 770 or a RX 5700 which are modernish midrange gpus. It's just insane. It seems according to the reviews you need fsr frame gen which is wild.

well, it depends on how we delimit "playable" ... for me, at least 1080p 75fps medium settings, anything lower than that is kinda awkward

Currently I mainly game on an Asus ZenBook duo 14 with an i7 1195G7, 16GB RAM and a GeForce MX450! Obviously it doesn't have good performance in newer games, but I like to play indies most of the time, like Slay The Spire, Darkest Dungeon, Manor Lords recently, and some age of empires 3. It works well for those games and I like the second screen for watching videos at the same time! Whenever I want to play something intensive I'll do it on the desktop with the 4080S!

no, it's badly coded, the reason for performance issues are memory leaks. but also, if you're trying to play a game released in 2024 on a system that runs on 5+ year old hardware that was considered low to mid-range when it released then it's completely your fault, especially when the game is open world and has high fidelty graphics

I plan to upgrade, hopefully by the end of May, after selling my laptop to a family member. The money from the laptop sale will fund the building of a desktop, equipped with an RX 7600 (Non XT) and Ryzen 5 4500G, for both college and gaming. I aim to create a productive workstation for school that also provides gaming performance similar to a PS5 since I'll be studying Cyber Security and Computer Science next year. To fund some components, I've already sold my PS5 copies of WRC and Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, as well as my PS4 copies of Ghost of Tsushima and Cyberpunk 2077. My family member plans to buy the laptop by the end of May, and I've already purchased a 512GB SATA SSD and a single 16GB RAM stick. Unfortunately, I can't afford dual-channel due to prices in my country, so there's no turning back for me.

But the time for last gen has passed and the GTX 1650 won’t be able to survive for much longer despite so many budget gamers using it…they won’t have the money to upgrade it, due to them using a GTX 1650 laptop or parts being expensive. Most 3050 or 1650 owners are laptop users, not desktop users…so for them to upgrade, it’s extremely expensive depending on where they are…that’s why I find this entire situation sad
