As many times as you can state not to place your gear between the speakers, almost every one does and argues that it sounds good and doesn't follow this advice. I have followed it and believe it makes all the difference in the world

I could literally listen to this guy all day man. epic content. hey you automatically to voice and produce an audio book. I'd pay five ten bucks to listen for an hour or two. make it il buy for sure and if it's 4 hour plusses il give you 20 bucks all day long. thanks again for the grateful content guys

Good information Dennis , big issues in many standard rooms . Had a client who insited on putting his system in an odd shaped room with windows nearby , and kept wondering why he could'nt get clear depth of field and centering of vocals . Simple it's that dam big window right there !! What can I do he say's , I recomend changing rooms !! But he won't have that !!

Yeah, the Duntech Sovereign. I was offered a pair in mint condition for about $4000 back in the early 90's. They were just too big. There's a number of mastering studios that use or have used them. They were touted as the most accurate speakers back in the late 80's. The store that had them called them coffins because that's how big they are..

Hey Dennis thank you for this video ; I absolutely reckon the importance to not place the gear too high between the speakers, and I won't do that. I was wondering about placing them not between the speakers, but between the listening position and the speakers, still at the lowest position from the ground. My idea is to use the upper surface of the rack in order to place absorption (foam) or diffusion, instead of the coffee tray, at a distance with sound reflection issues. What do you think of this idea? woud it be worth to try? My intention is to buid a dedicated room. Thank you

Great video! I do have a question. You start off saying speaker placement away from the walls is paramount and there is no exception to this. I have Klipschorns. How would that effect the rest of your equation? Can I have equipment between as long as I keep it lower than the horns?

Hello.. i have and area of 80- 90 square meter function hall room and is it good to install a four speaker at four corners at ceiling type having the height of 270 cm from the flooring..? my speaker is 80 watts per speaker..

If you want hilariously bad sound. Set up your Stereo system on hardwood floors with no rugs or carpeting. Throw in some large windows for good measure. 😄

This might sound out of the blue. But... For narrow, high ceiling spaces where ceiling area is small compared to wall area, why do we normally require acoustical treatment for CEILING ONLY? Why Ceiling only? I don't understand. HELP! 😭

Well I guess my 9' - 8" tall CBT line arrays violate the speaker height in my 11' ceiling room, the center speaker should be ok though, it's only 7':-)

So what is the best room size?

Excuse me for asking this question, but I'm kind of new to this. I fortunately have a room, not particularly large and odd shape, that I have a free run to do whatever I like and my wife won't mind. If I was to able to put some sort of sound absorption on every wall, floor and ceiling, outside of reflection of furniture, would that not help me to get the most sound directly from my speakers? Is that not what I should be working towards, direct speaker sound with no reverberation? Or is that something not obtainable without spending a small fortune? Thanks
