Do the New York Jets have too many players on expiring contracts? The list is pretty long:

No, I rather do Business the way Douglas is doing for the Jets. we had a lot of GM’s giving out bad contracts for the names Tremaine Johnson, and Le’Veon Bell I rather have the older players help the younger players and then have them step into the roll. We have to pay Sauce and Garrett. We will have to let go of the older players and believe in the younger players. if the veterans play well, they could get an extended contract from another team. This is an audition year for the veterans.

Fortunately next years draft is pretty deep at CB, DT, and Safety. One thing I do trust this coaching staff to do is develop defensive talent. As much as I like DJ Reed, he'll be 29 midway through the 2025 season. That's right around when DBs start to drop off in level of play. Add in having to pay Sauce and MCII, it just makes more sense to develop a young CB than it does to pay Reed.

What’s working against Carter is the actions of this staff constantly platooning S hybrid LBs that can play that slot nickel position. Extend Reed no question ❤

Ian, I think something to note. We will get a ton of comp picks. For the talents we do lose. We have to draft well now, It is what it is. But it should be achievable with douglas.

Wats up IAN. I DONT LIKE IT. SAY TYRON SMITH HAS A GREAT YEAR. WE WOULD WANT HIM FOR ANOTHER YEAR AND HES GONNA GET OFFERED REALLY GOOD MONEY WHEN WENCOULD OF JUST GAVE HIM A 2 YR THIS YEAR. They unfortunately do; a lot of our players are about to be in their last year or second to last year and won’t be able to help us win anymore.

It makes sense the way things are being worked out your going to have to pay breece Garrett and sauce so having the flexibility to cut and sign short term while you develop the younger draft picks it seems structured the right way

I think Douglas uses FA as placeholder players, and he drafts the players to be on the team long term. So a lot of these players are not coming back after the season.

NFL stands for ‘not for long’. So some of these guys will unfortunately move on. That’s why it’s important to develop the mid round draft picks. Baltimore and Pittsburgh are always losing players and they have replacements in the pipeline. And they’re never drafting in the Top 5, unlike the Jets in recent years😢.

I would have liked Tyron and Moses on 2 year deals. I don't want to start over again next season, and if they are good we will lose them. Michael Carter needs to be extended now before he goes off, why be in the Huff situation all over again? Great video, I had already made a list of expiring contracts to chat about this.
