I am no lawyer so don't take my word for it, best check for yourself.
As hunters going onto a landholders property, we have a Duty of Care so let's "Do the Right Thing", be proactive, get in front of the game and look after the people who give us the privilege of access to their land.

Goodonya Clarke. People ALL need to know the ins and outs of the new legistations and how they affect the individual responsible for the health and safety of "volunteers" who trap and shoot ferals. Well said mate. Keep up the great work you do in our great country. Richard in NSW.

No motor bikes old cars guns etc for other people on our property mate, we only have 15 hectares but so many “friends “ ask to ride bikes and say “we would never do anything if we got hurt etc” but I’ve seen it happen to another person and it’s totally NOT worth the risk, even is some peanut comes on your property stealing firewood and hurts themselves it can be a can of worms, very informative as usual mate hope you and your family are well, stay safe buddy

Informing of known hazards & risks, & getting them to sign off on a copy of that list that they have been informed is the standard way to cover visitors to a workplace (an entire farm is a workplace). Demonstrate "all reasonable steps" have been taken. Covers most situations.

Totally agree mate spot on👌👌 I’ve been an avid hunter for bout 50yrs mostly on Cape York and now reside on the Sunny Coast. Last couple of yrs I have lost both hunting properties I had due to people doing the wrong thing and getting us all kicked off?? Over the yrs I have because I wanted to contribute back to the landowners who have generously allowed me hunting access fixed fences, fought bush fires, fixed vehicles and machinery (I’m a diesel fitter) helped with mustering, chased up an bought parts/fruit an veggies up for them etc etc and despite glowing references from landowners cannot get onto any properties anywhere remotely close to South east Qld which is a tad disheartening as am super keen to shoot a deer as have never eaten venison and would love to fill the freezer? But I totally don’t blame the landowners as they struggle to make a living and have to deal with clowns trashing their land, the amount of other peoples rubbish we transport home from places is disgusting 👎 Anyway rant over an keep up the good work mate👍

NZ has plenty, including workplace safety rules. Due to plenty without common sense, uncommon in the wider population of humans worldwide. Rec hunters have not been required to have insurance, & even DoC allows fee free permit access to them to hut most places.

@@ClarkMcGhiesWildCountry Definition of volunteers and defining rec hunters being volunteers. They aren't, & aren't pest control operators. Those doing it for hire or reward are a different category, and taking friends/relatives for the day includes those companions as part of your work operation. That's how similar legislation has been defined in NZ for the last 20years, the issue was raised and defined decades ago, & dispelled the concerns. Still liable under many other laws for damage etc

The lucky ones who have the privildge to hunt and fish have to remember that they not only need to behave and act properly for their own selves but also for all the others who wish to be able to participate in the same activities because it only takes one mishap to cause a total ban on everybody. As to voting for the ones who might help us we never learn. Just look at the results of the recent bi election on the weekend. A great opportunity is coming in Queensland at the state election at the end of the year for us to elect people who are on our side. Think about who to vote for and do not vote in the same people who are our enemies.

Workplace health and safety will not be interested if they are not payed employees.... period. You are wandering far of track mate. Stick to your trapping mate and leave politics alone. No one is going to pursue a landholder for something that happened on the place. You are scaremongering Clark and need to stop.

Better do some reading of current legislation mate, you are so far off track yourself. Watch the clip again, maybe a few time so it sinks in. Volunteers are specifically mentioned. NSW, VIC, TAS, NT, all have Game Legislation, Qld only has the Bio Act 2014. So when a rec hunter enters a landholders business property, they can only be controlling Pest animals as defined under legislation. They are not always doing this voluntarily, most are trading their efforts for hunting/feral control in exchange for access (Read more on Barter and Trade in law) Read it, maybe you will understand, otherwise, cop it sweet.
