Totally agree...I'm sorry to hear you previously didn't have your love language understood - I had that with my ex but we talked it through as communication is key. Sadly, he passed away almost 2 years ago (April) xx

My love language is touch too, and I rarely have recieved touch in my life; It's okay I'm not gonna die but I feel like I'm starving in a dry desert throughout a period of famine...that's how it feels.

Never though about reassuring through the way the person enjoys being loved. And like trying to get to know which way each of you shows your love really does give some space to think, and see if there is anything that needs to be compromised , before anything happens. Exactly, it’s so important to understand both your own love language and your partners if you want the relationship to last. One thing I’d add is that sometimes people have multiple love languages! For example, mine is both Touch and Quality Time, which I figured out after a lot of introspection. So yeah, just keep that in mind.

My love languages are quality time, words of affirmation (on occasion) and physical touch. My way of showing love is gift giving and quality time tho. I dated a guy and he never gave me compliments other than calling me 'cute' and I was so self conscious all the time bc of it. I would constantly send paragraphs of why I was attracted to him and wanted to be with him, but that fizzled out bc I wasn't receiving the same attention.
